We’re so excited that .dunston - COLLA VOCE is included in Bandcamp’s Best Contemporary Classical of 2024. Big thanks to for this, and for all of his support of this album. Stay tuned, as COLLA VOCE: Praylewd, Nick’s remix for LP only, will be released 1/31/25. Test pressings actually just arrived today and they sound nuts. It’s a complete reimagining of the COLLA VOCE material and we can’t wait to share it. More soon!

New single out today! Part II of Waterfall by Sun & Rain (brand new band featuring Travis Laplante, Nathaniel Morgan, Andrew Smiley, and Jason Nazary), and whoa is it awesome. Part I was already out Bandcamp-only, so we put Waterfall I + II on streaming services together. You can check them out anywhere you stream via the link in the comments. Or that same link will take you straight to Bandcamp to listen, where you can pick up an LP or digital DL while. This one is seriously awesome on vinyl...the tests sound amazing, and we should have the full run in hand in the next week or two. Like with Yikes, we’ll ship them as soon as we have them, so go grab one!

PRE-ORDER! We’re so excited to share a new Tim Berne album, featuring his trio of the last three years with Tom Rainey and Gregg Belisle-Chi, which is his first band featuring all Berne compositions since Snakeoil! This is OOYH Records second split with Screwgun and the album, Yikes Too (link in comments), will be released January 17 on LP + 2xCD + Digital. We have 10 test pressings available and shipping immediately, signed by the trio and hand numbered. Test pressings come with a limited Screwgun/OOYH mashup logo sticker that Steve Byram designed.

LPs are in stock and shipping IMMEDIATELY, six weeks ahead of release day (also they sound amazing). The LP (Yikes) is made up of studio tracks, and the 2xCD (Yikes Too) is studio tracks disc 1, and a live concert from Seattle disc 2, all mastered by David Torn. The album art is a collaboration between Screwgun’s Steve Byram and OOYH’s TJ Huff. Steve did the LP art, TJ did the CD art, and they collaborated to make the awesome digital cover. Everything about this one both sounds and looks incredible...physical copies highly recommended.

Two things coming soon: Stay tuned for drop details about the Yikes Wax Mage...we’ll announce the date/time for the drop in the next few days (follow the OOYH BC page or IG account to make sure you get that info). There are also PDF scores for all the tracks, which will go up on release day 1/17.

Sun & Rain is a new, fully collaborative quartet featuring (L-R) Nathaniel Morgan, Andrew Smiley, Jason Nazary, and Travis Laplante. Their debut release, Waterfall (OOYH 032), took six years to compose, and we are thrilled to be releasing it on LP + digital on January 10, 2025. You can preview Part I of the composition now, only on Bandcamp (link in the comments). Super album art + photography + design by TJ Huff. ANNOUNCING Christopher Damman Sextet - S/T (OOYH 033), releasing on LP + CD + digital on February 7, 2025. We have a lot of announcements over the coming weeks about our Winter/Spring 2025 releases (including our second split with Screwgun Records), and we are super pumped about all the albums we have lined up. First up is the Chicago bassist Christopher Damman and his sextet featuring (L-R) Jon Irabagon (recently heard on Bakunawa) on alto saxophone, the Chicago legend Edward Wilkerson, Jr. on tenor saxophone + Eb alto clarinet, Christopher Dammann on bass + compositions, James Davis on trumpet, OOYH’s own Scott Clark on drums, and Mabel Kwan on piano. We have much more to share on this album, but for today you can head to Bandcamp via the link in the comments to pre-order and take a listen to the first track, If I Could Time Travel I Would Mend Your Broken Heart AKA Why Did The Protests Stop.

The original art + design by TJ Huff came out looking incredible on this one, and the LP features a full color 11 x 11 poster with an original drawing by TJ, and liner notes by Bill Meyer. Christopher Dammann Sextet is by no means the first record that bassist, composer and improviser Christopher Dammann has released, but it’s the first directly under his name. Dammann has gigged persistently in the Chicago scene since the late, great saxophonist Fred Anderson gave him a monthly gig at the Velvet Lounge in 2009 and notably as a regular substitute for Brian Sandstrom in the long-lived free improv collective Extraordinary Popular Delusions, as well as nationally.

Today is release day for Grey Mcmurray - Crying At Breakfast, an EP follow up to the 2019 solo debut Stay Up. We’ve been working together on this release for years, and we’re thrilled to finally share the music with you. It’s hard to express what a unique musical voice Grey is, but if you have 15-minutes to spare, listening to this EP from start to finish will give you an idea. This completes the double release of Quartet Music Vol. I + II that we've been working with Michaël Attias on all year, and we are thrilled to be sharing this music. The 2xCD set of Quartet Music Vol. I: LuMiSong + Quartet Music Vol. II: Kardamon Fall are in stock and shipping immediately. It is a really beautiful set (both because of the music and the incredible art + design by TJ Huff), so if you still listen to CDs, we highly recommend it. Michaël's albums are not available in full on streaming, so Bandcamp is the best place to check them out (link in comments, and you can hear 4 tracks from the album).

There are two singles streaming from Vol. II, Trinité and Avrils, and you can also check out #63 (Settled) from LuMiSong.

Quartet Music Vol. II features Michaël on alto saxophone, Santiago Leibson on piano, Sean Conly on bass, and Tom Rainey on drums. Quartet Music Vol. I still features both Michaël and Santiago, but with Matt Pavolka on bass, and Mark Ferber on drums. These albums are Michaël's first full band releases in seven years! And we have to make extra special mention of TJ Huff's work on these albums...he did the art and design for Michaël's 2019 solo album échos la nuit, and all three of these albums have common threads running throughout. We obviously love all of TJ's design for OOYH, but this one feels extra special! We truly love this music, and are so honored that Michaël chose OOYH to release Quartet Music.

Richmond, a couple of very exciting concerts this week! Our friend, the great violist Jessica Pavone, will be in town tomorrow and Wednesday. More details via the event pages in the comments, but this is where/when she'll be playing. Please come out and take a listen, I promise you will be glad you did! Also this is a heads up that OOYH Records @ Artspace Second Mondays got pushed back one day to accommodate hosting Jessica. So we won't be there tonight, but we will be there tomorrow!
