The Batman Movie Review:

Acting: 9/10 - I would be lying if I said the acting in this film was anything short of compelling and riveting. As these words have similar meanings with differences, so do the hard dialog scenes of this movie. Robert Pattinson delivers a stunning performance as both Bruce Wayne & Batman. Colin Farrell executes his roll so convincingly, you may not realize its him until you check imdb.
In short several actors deliver award worthy performances, and its worth the 3 hour cut out of your day.

Storytelling: 8.5/10 - As a fan of the batman series (yes all of them, even the clooney one) I enjoyed the new aesthetic combined with previous film themes, creating a "multiverse" feeling. It is a 3 hour film, I wish I had a scene I could say was a verified "bathroom break" scene. The closest one I can think of is when they are walking threw the destroyed apartment. Urinator beware, you risk missing valuable action/dialog no matter when.

Visual Effects: 9.2/10 - Not only were the visuals breathtaking, all but one scene is seemingly real, there aren't any "Batman deflected a rocket with his fist" scenes where realism goes out the window, you can even see his hands in bloody wraps when he removes his gloves, showing he is more human than superhero.

Action & Stunt Coord.: 9/10 - There are no lite action scenes in this film. When it's on, it is on 100%. The best "Show of power" sequence since Darth Vader when he appears in Rogue One.

Total Score: 8.9 - This is a MUST SEE, if you haven't yet get your tickets now! If you don't like crowds I recommend waiting as even the matinees were sold out in my area. I openly advise you see this film on any day of the week, it is worth full price tickets. You wont be disappointed if you are at all a fan of batman.

Studio 666 Movie Review:

Acting: 1/10 - The acting is terribly disappointing at best. Uninspired cringe comedy laced with late 1990s comedy horror themes leaves you wondering if there was a script or if Dave Grohl decided to adlib the entirety of the film.

Storytelling: 2/10 - A slow start leads up to an anti climactic third act borrowed from previous films to the point you think 'Tucker & Dale vs Evil" and "Evil Dead" had a child that went to Berklee. The scenes are so strangely woven together you'd swear directed it. Save yourself some time and money and just watch the trailer.

Horror Aspects: 2/10 - A lack of compelling jump scares/suspense combined with a plethora of cheesy gore reminiscent of the movie "ZomBeavers" create an experience that leaves you unfulfilled. The most intense scenes are in the trailer.

For The Love Of Dave Grohl: 10/10 - (Score Not Applicable) If you care less about plot dynamics and convincing acting and more about seeing Dave Grohls face get your tickets now!

Total Score: 1.6/10 - If you love Dave Grohl and could care less about the source material its worth a watch as a "that movie's so bad its good" feel. If you don't like guessing the ending to movies

Uncharted Movie Review

Acting: 8.5/10 - Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Sophia Taylor Ali capture your imagination in this under two hour adventure. I could enumerate the acting accomplishments the supporting cast achieved but we haven't time for such a lengthy review. Captivating is an understatement.

Storytelling: 8.5/10 - Quick to start, this film wastes no time and pulls no punches . Vivid dialog, accompanied by nonstop conflict engagement create an awe-inspiring experience that wont take up more than a small portion of your day. 100% Worth a second trip to the theatre. There's even a special cameo during a beach scene if you pay close attention and are a fan of the video game. Don't forget to stay for the bonus clip after the credits roll.

CGI & Visual Effects: 8.7/10 - The breathtaking visuals will have you guessing whether its rendered in a computer, or real world scenery. Several scenes are so emotionally thrilling, you become enveloped by the action, sound, and camera work to the point you forget you're in a theatre.

Stunt Coordination: 8.8/10 - Coming in nearly $20 Million under the budget for , showcases the talent of who for this film, did all of his own stunts. Proving with a dynamite cast and exceptional writing a larger budget doesn't guarantee success.

Total Score: 8.6/10 - If you like action, riveting special effects and compelling acting rolled into a borderline family friendly PG-13 experience you can feel comfortable taking your children to without boring yourself to sleep. Get your tickets now, you won't want to miss this one. I always recommend $5 Tuesday to save money but this one is worth full price the first time around.

Death On The Nile Movie Review:

Acting: 5.5/10 - Sir Kenneth Branagh delivers a compelling performance as Hercule Poirot. Unfortunately, the remaining cast lead with uninspired enthusiasm and lackluster embodiment of character. Notably Russel Brand and Gal Gadot draw interest through their scenes but are cut short to employ romantic pleasantry themes.

Story Telling: 5/10 - This film is a long walk for a short drink of water. Apart from the entire plot being an erotic novel woven into a game of "Clue" the character introductions are filled with benign throwaway subject matter in an attempt at redirection whereas if you have seen ANY romance murder mysteries you'll have this one solved by the time they get on the boat. The only quandary that left me in the theatre (other than to produce this review) was the age old "How they've done it"
which is substantiated by a "Clue" reference immediately following the start of the climax.

Nature Of Suspense: 4/10 - If you're looking for a jump scare or edgy tension, look elsewhere; minimal high rising thrills and maximum foreshadowing create an unimaginative adventure that will leave you with regret towards the 2 hours you've lost. If you enjoy long walks down empty hallways get your tickets now.

Aesthetic: 7/10 - The best part of this movie is how deeply cast back in time you find yourself, if you enjoyed "The Great Gatsby" more so for its 1920s/1930's scenery, and less for the plot, you will love this movie.

Total Score: 5.3/10 - If you were pleased with the 2017 film "Murder On The Orient Express" its likely you'll at least halfway enjoy your experience but I recommend a $5 Tuesday or waiting for it to be picked up on a streaming service. If you find yourself guessing the ending to many films this isn't for you.

Moonfall Movie Review

Acting: 7.9/10 - Patrick Wilson's performance as "Brian Harper" was seamlessly convincing and captivating. The supporting cast was a mix of talented stars such as John Bradley from GOT & Halle Berry; Although many of the tertiary character lines were a bit "non-essential" or "uneventful" the main focus is on the trials of the 3 main characters.

Storytelling: 8/10 - If you enjoyed films such as "The Martian, Gravity, Apollo 18, Interstellar or Event Horizon" Moonfall should be the next movie you see. I would recommend you go on a $5 Tuesday unless you are a die hard space fanatic.

Scientific Accuracy: 4/10 - As much as I enjoyed this film, it lacked authenticity in exchange for plot dynamics and a partially borrowed emotional conclusion from a 1998 movie of the same theme. If you enjoy conspiracy theories and the "Science" that back up said theories, Moonfall stays true to nearly 90%, but physics seem to be up in the air or nonexistent to anyone near the protagonists.

CGI & Visual Effects: 7.5/10 - With a budget of $140 million, you would expect decent visuals, and about 60% of the time that's what you get! There's nothing terrible about the effects but going back to scientific accuracy if gravity is strong enough to lift a tree off the ground humans would be rocketing towards the stratosphere. Instead they receive the double jump from Crash Bandicoot 3.

Total Score: 6.8/10 - For space fans that can overlook inaccuracies and pseudoscience, this is a suspenseful way to spend 2 hours. I would see the movie just for Patrick Wilson. If you aren't a fan of the movie Armageddon, this probably isn't your cup of tea

Scream 2022 Movie Review *No Spoilers*

Acting: 6/10 - Many of the more experienced actors were left with lower back problems after carrying nearly a dozen teenagers for 2 hours.

Story Telling: 5/10 - If you ever wanted to see a movie, about a movie, inside a movie. Look no further. Aside from jump scares and redirections, the focus was reminding the audience that there are a lot of Scream films. Yeah, we know.

Nostalgia: 8/10 - Im assuming 90% of the box office for this film will be nostalgia driven, and the producers seem to know that as well.

Total Score: 6.3/10
If you are a fan of the Scream franchise I would recommend seeing this on a matinee or $5 Tuesday. Not a film I would pay to see twice in theatres. I would have been much more disappointed, had I paid full price.
