I have been working in the public school system for over 18 years as a substitute teacher, Barton Tutor, teacher's assistant and art docent and full time teacher in 2-7th grade. I have been a tutor for over 9 years and have worked with adults and elementary aged students. I obtained my Master's in Elementary Education and am looking forward to helping people of all ages. h my students. My ultimate goal is to promote the joy of life-long learning. I am passionate about fostering good self esteem and providing a positive, warm and nurturing learning environment. I enjoy mixed media art, creative writing, poetry, journaling, reading, music and cooking. I am available to work with learners of all ages. I have a total of over 20 years of experience teaching adults and children. I specialize in collaborative learning and can adapt almost any materials to suit many different types of learners. I frequently use creativity as a way to explore my student's learning capabilities and utilize materials that will be fun and user friendly. My two best references are my own children who are organized students with a wonderful attitude about school and learning, which we have fostered together since they started school! I just purchased 30 notebooks for .35 each at Walmart. I plan to use some for my paras to use for my interactive notebooks. I also grabbed a few packs of crayola markers for .97 each. Check the clearance aisle because I got 24 high quality sharpened pencils for $4. That’s all I’m doing for that kind of stuff. I was able to get two bags of jolly ranchers for $2.50 each and a cool little zippered supply bag that has a whole side of those bubble things for my inclusion students to use with my push in paras when working with small groups. I’ll fill it with my figit spinners and toys. I also have one that is an avocado. I feel like it was a small amount to get off to a good start.
This is everything! Everyone needs to let kids be kids and learn manners and social skills that are age appropriate!
