 *Cue Sci-Fi Music*  Dateline: Pre-2000’s Nashville Our Story: A Renegade Foodie working in an Iconic industry, finds himself making his imprint on the entirety of the Nashville Hot Chicken culture as a whole. There are FEW men with the heart of an innovator and Chef…. Alex went down to Clearwater for the first time last summer and LOVED it!

Welp… we’re starting off this Second Season with an INTERESTING twist. Located in Donelson (near the Airport) we have Hella Hot Chicken, which has been here for about 8 Months. Insta: (.hot.chicken)  Located only a mere 8 minutes from The Airport exits, & about the same from the center(ish) of Donelson; The Donelson Hella Hot is in a great location. It appears that they do a GREAT DEAL of DoorDash & Uber Eats.  First Off: We didn’t get a picture with our friend Wes, but hot dang he helped us laugh throughout this entire meal.  Wes, we love you, and are so thankful for you!  Second: Hella Hot Donelson has a Very Large menu. We only tried our staples, and what we believed would be sleepers.  Third: If you go, only get “Hella Hot” spice level. Trust Us.  Fourth: Re-Read the 3rd Point, and swear by it.  Hella Hot has an infamous reputation in the Hot Chicken community. Depending on who you speak to or which posts you read in online Hot Chicken Communities; you may hear different Perspectives of the food/operations. If you take a listen to our newest Episode, you’ll see why this episode itself may go down in infamy.  However, we actually had a few decent options such as the Tenders, the Super Thicc & Chonky Sandwich… Maybe even the Fries?  They were solid.  If you’d like to hear our thoughts on all the other items we’ve eaten (or hear some controversy)… you’ll need to take a listen  So make this (Slightly) Spicy Pilgrimage to the Donelson Hella Hot and check out this week’s episode of The HOT CHIX Podcast!

What better way to celebrate “Valentine’s Day” than to go to a place called “Loveless”…   No but seriously… We LOVED going to this Iconic Nashville location that has quintessentially cornered the market for anything and everything Southern.  The Loveless Cafe () is an Icon in Nashville’s long history of amazing food & culture.  Whether it is Jams, Jellies, Biscuits, Catfish, Chicken, Fried Green Tomatoes, or even Nashville Hot Chicken…  This place makes it a point to do it all… And boy do they do it well!  Minutes away from the iconic Americana Mecca of Leiper’s Fork, and quite literally touching the Natchez Trace Parkway… The Loveless Cafe sits nestled in Nashville’s Big Backyard.  We encourage ANY and ALL of our fans… even if not for the chicken… visit and enjoy some amazing Jelly/Jam/Preserves… and get a Biscuit to go!  Happy Valentine’s Day & Happy Galentine’s Day to all who celebrate! We are so thankful for visit for this Season 2 Debut!

The Truly Perfectly Spicy Albatross of this Show: WELCOME “Gus-ified Hot Chicken”!

Before all of you start saying “Gus’s Fried Chicken isn’t Nashville Hot”… You’re right.
However, we MAKE it Nashville Hot!

This week we are taking a look at two different Tennessee Institutions (Both Memphis and Nashville)!
First and Foremost, it was Dip’s birthday when we went to Dino’s (). Happy Birthday, Dip!

We may have created a Poultry-stein with this concoction… but boy howdy was it delicious!
After snagging a bit of a “Secret Ingredient” from Dino’s …
We hopped into the car to drive a WHOPPING 6 Minutes away.

We arrived at the one and only…. One of the best pieces of Chicken that EITHER of our Hosts have ever eaten….
GUS’S WORLD FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN! ()
The Sides were good, but the Chicken was AMAZING!

Big Shout out to Chef Torie (At Gus’s), Miss Nikki (The Server at Gus’s) and Dip (over at Dino’s)!
They made today’s spicy pilgrimage ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!

Alex TRULY Promises that he DOES NOT want to add an explicit tag… but Gregory’s jokes are getting SPICY!

This week, we’re visiting a minor chain here in Middle Tennessee… with options on the Southeastern Side of Nashville), Lebanon TN, and Hendersonville TN.

BJ Hot Chicken has a good many options, with a few creative choices on flavoring.
This was an interesting experience that led to some pretty intriguing options! 
It’s centrally located in the Hendersonville “Main Street” area, and near several other Prominent businesses (including the VUMC Women’s Clinic)! 
Also, just a quick shoutout to the amazing Nurse and Doctor Teams at the VUMC Women’s Center just down the road… if you listen to our show, please leave a comment!
