Two killer reissues hit the distro today!

STORMCROW “Enslaved in Darkness” LP - Super crusty metal punk with riffs for days. Debut album here reissued by Brainsand Records. Stormcrow was a busy band while active doing several tours and splits (on the mighty 20 Buck Spin) this record always stood out to me maybe because it was their first but dang it’s a crusher. Recorded at Earhammer back in the day this has been remastered at Enormous Door and is limited to just 500 copies on black vinyl.

IabhorHer “IabhorHer” 12” - Complete Session from 1994 including the Slap a Ham Records 7” and additional comp tracks. Hardcore Punk Grind Death Metal Sludge w/ members of Born Against, Cattlepress and Municipal Waste. Remaster w/ new art, now on a 12” limited to 500 copies, 200 on Green Vinyl.

Also got in a massive DROPDEAD restock, everything they have available on LP and CD plus some HIRAX reissue restocks.

Happy 6/25 to all who celebrate!

One year ago on this day I began thinking about where this drum kit was and if it was in use. Turns out it was in the homies parents garage in Texas having been retired for a touring backline. We decided it was best kept up here at Camp Tankcrimes and made arrangement for it to be delivered around new years. I have tons of space up here in the foothills but didn’t have a perfect spot for it, so I built one! The Shred Shed was born and I’m still putting the finishing touches on it but there’s 4 walls, a roof and finally power in there. My goal was to be jamming this kit by today but there’s a trip or two to the drum shop ahead of me before it’s ready to play. I’m absolutely thrilled to have it here be excited to get back into drums for fun. The Shred Shed becoming its own little museum of sorts as I’ve also got Dystopia bass cab in here. Always in search of interesting gear now that I have the spot.

Thank you always and forever to Max Ward for inspiring me so many years ago. Without the underground DIY hardcore punk scene I’m not sure I would have been bold enough to start bands and a label. I have dedicated my life to this punk s**t and I’m so happy that I did.

Special shoutout to the homie .o.sugar for taking care of this thing for the past decade or more and making the effort to get it to me.

I love you Max! I love 625! I love fastcore, power violence, punk rock and I love you! Happy 6/25!

“Lifeless Birth” was recorded with Grammy Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer, mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege with stunning art by Marald Van Haasteren. CD, cassette and LP in several different and exciting vinyl variants all housed in a golden foil stamped gatefold jacket.

As we bid farewell to 2023 it’s important to me that everyone that has supported us knows how much I appreciate it. From buying records and merch to coming out to our shows, even low effort loyalty like sharing or commenting on our posts and stories on this app really helps us get in front of more eyeballs. I love what I do and doing it alongside and with the support of “my people” makes it all the more rewarding.

2024 is lining up to be our biggest year yet! New Ghoul and Necrot records, the BRAINSQUEEZE TOUR with the band who has been a guiding light for Tankcrimes all these years and my best of friends, Municipal Waste. Got a new band in the studio and some insane reissues up my sleeve. Really looking forward to it all!

Tankcrimes is a one man label. With the help of our mail order and distribution partners it’s just me. But, we do have 3 freelance staffers who are always working behind the scenes (Hi Matty! Hi Liz!) and get monthly paychecks from TC.

With me since day one is one of my best friends and an invaluable asset to the label, Mark Reategui. My vision for the aesthetic of the label is executed by Marky through our layouts, adverts, videos and general design. We’ve developed it together for over 20 years now and I couldn’t do it without him. I love you Marky.

I love seeing y’all’s pics of our new records of which preorders have shipped and landed before the street date, next Friday 12/08. Super stoked on how these killer records came out!

Unlike most of the reissues I do here at Tankcrimes, these 2 each for their own reasons are one time pressings. I made enough to go around and plenty of copies are shipping out to stores but once they’re gone that’s it.

Another difference here, which shows my age, is that these are some of the first reissues on Tankcrimes where I was there. Until now our reissues have been from the 80s and 90s, just before my time in underground punk and metal. While these 2 (and the recent Dystopia self titled) I was supporting these bands and releases when they came out 20 years ago. Punk is fleeting and people and bands come and go, not every record needs to be reissued, some great ones are fit to go out of print. A lot of music is about the experience of having been there.

Anyway these records are important to me and if they are important to you I hope one finds its way into your collection.
