Best Brunch? is a spot that captivates the senses and elevates the dining experience to a whole new level with its garden setting adorned with colorful roses đŸŒč this charming restaurant is the epitome of elegance and sophistication.

From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance.

Our brunch began with complimentary scones served warm with butter and preserves. I look forward to these at every visit. The breakfast pizza was adorned with farmers market potatoes, chorizo, four cheeses, rosemary, scallions, and a crispy egg,and the half lobster added a touch of luxury to an already exquisite dish.

The fig apricot and pecan brioche French toast is a must-try if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy the nutty flavor and crunch of pecans. The combination of flavors and textures, complemented by Vermont maple syrup was a delicious combination.

To end our meal, we indulged in the hot pecan square topped with praline gelato and drizzled with hot fudge. The contrast of the warm pecan square with the cold gelato was divine, and I definitely recommend this.

Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, hosting family from out of town, or simply seeking a beautiful brunch spot, The Ivy is a gem with its diverse menu selection and delectable desserts crafted by their in-house bakery. As always, an unforgettable dining experience.

I visited in West Hollywood for brunch, and it was a pleasant experience. Arriving early was a smart choice as we managed to steer clear of the crowds before the place got bustling. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, exuding a relaxing vibe that set the tone for a magnificent
meal.

For my order, I opted for my go-to dish, the breakfast burrito which has tater tots inside: The combination of flavors and textures in the burrito never fails to impress me, and it remains one of my favorite dishes.

In addition to the breakfast burrito, we also indulged in the Ricotta Hotcake and Salmon Mezze, both of which were equally satisfying. The Ricotta Hotcake was fluffy and decadent, while the Salmon Mezze offered a refreshing and flavorful option for those who enjoy seafood.

From the mouthwatering food to the welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant has quickly become a favorite brunch spot for me. I highly recommend Great White to anyone looking for a cozy and delicious dining experience in West Hollywood.

Have you heard of Esco’s? Located on La Brea Avenue, it’s one of Yelp’s best pizza spots so l’m trying some of this East Coast flavor and classic New York style pizza, and I’m doing that in an actual New York subway car. I’m having the White Clam with baby clams with lemon splash, chilli flakes, fresh herbs and spices, garlic oil and mozzarella. This is one of my favorites and so happy to find another place that makes this unique combination. The lemon squeeze brings the flavors to life! And Classic Cheese with seasoned sauce.
There’s plenty of space to book a party with your favorite pizzas, sandwiches and wings, reserve a room or book an entire event in the Presidential Suite.
Esco’s Pizza, 615 N. La Brea Avenue.
Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sun. to Thurs., and 11 a.m.
to midnight, Friday and Saturday.

Gjusta in Venice

In the vibrant neighborhood of Venice, Gjusta stands as a multifaceted culinary oasis, blending the essence of a deli, bakery, café, and market within its inviting space. As I embarked on my inaugural visit to this renowned hotspot, I was immediately captivated by its cozy outdoor courtyard, setting the stage for a fab dining experience.

Upon entering the warehouse-inspired interior, my goodness, I found it to be a gastronomic wonderland with an array of offerings. Despite my uncertainty regarding the ordering process, the guidance from the staff behind the seafood counter swiftly acquainted me with the menu and ordering system.

I tried the Italian sandwich priced at $20, a medley of ciabatta baguette, sopressata, mortadella, ham, chopped escarole, pickled peppers, onion, fontina, mayo, and oregano vinaigrette. Reminiscent of the flavors I savored during my time in San Francisco, this sammich showcased a perfect balance of fresh, high-quality ingredients placed within a crusty and chewy rustic roll.

The Fish Plate priced at $30, a recommended selection, featured an assortment of bread, pickles, labneh, and vegetables. The artful presentation and freshness of the ingredients was fantastic.

While the establishment’s policy prohibited canine companions, the courtyard ambiance hinted at a lively camaraderie shared among patrons and their furry friends.

I then explored the Gjusta Goods shop, a treasure trove of house-made spice blends, artisan ceramics, curated gifts, and luxurious linens. The Gjusta Flower Shop within the space added a touch of floral elegance, showcasing seasonal bouquets and arrangements that complemented the overall aesthetic of the venue.

ZOZO at Maison Midi - A Culinary Journey

I had the pleasure of dining at ZOZO at Maison Midi, where Chef John Sedlar’s “Cuisine of the Sun” dishes take center stage. Nestled within Maison Midi, this culinary gem offers a delightful exploration of flavors inspired by equatorial countries around the globe.

The menu, aptly named CONVIVIUM, celebrates a fusion of Native American, French, and Hispanic flavors with global accents. Each dish is a blend of spice, sweetness, sourness, and herbaceous combinations, keeping guests’ palates intrigued.

To start, we indulged in the Aged Cachaça from Brazil, expertly crafted with lime, coconut, and demerara. I enjoyed the refreshing and tropical flavors of this cocktail as it set the tone for the evening. Meanwhile, my companion and hubby savored a bottle of Chateau Pascaud 2020 Bordeaux Superieur, a perfect accompaniment to the eclectic menu.

Our appetizers, the Kennebecs with sorrel puree and the Hongo Con Queso featuring Portobello with crema de queso azul. Each bite was delectable, full of flavors, perfectly balanced and expertly executed.

For the main course, we savored the River and Oceans with salmon escalope, tarragon, and root mash, as well as the Pasture with Abiquiu lamb, chayote chutney, and heirloom polenta. The dishes featured bold flavors and innovative combinations.

To conclude our dining experience, we indulged in the Ritual, a decadent Zapotec mole ice cream with hierbas dulces and chiles suaves. What an amalgamation of cool and creamy chocolate, fresh and exotic fruits, and spicy, earthy mole.

This was surely a gastronomic adventure that you must experience for yourself.

This is , formerly known as Yellow House, where they have been serving their famous Kimchi Bacon Pasta for over 20 years! This top menu item is a creamy linguine dish made with their house-made kimchi, bacon, secret spice, and packed with incredible flavor. You’ll be blown away by the combination and the perfect balance of spices.

In addition to their renowned pasta, Anju House offers a variety of other mouthwatering dishes. We highly recommend trying their Asado Plate, featuring perfectly grilled Argentinian short ribs served with chimichurri and a steak sauce for dipping. The flavors are rich and satisfying, making it a must-try for you meat lovers.

For those craving something crispy and flavorful, the Korean Fried Chicken with Green Onion Salad is a winner. The chicken is perfectly fried to achieve a crispy exterior while maintaining juicy tenderness on the inside. This is paired with refreshing Green Onion Salad and a side of sweet chili sauce.

To complement your meal, don’t miss out on their in-house creation, Melona Soju. This unique beverage is made with the flavors of the popular Korean melon ice pop, resulting in a refreshing drink that perfectly complements the flavors of the dishes.

Located in Koreatown, Anju House provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere, complete with a relaxing outdoor patio. Whether you’re looking for a fun date night or a late-night hangout with friends, this is the perfect spot to enjoy exceptional food.

Visit them and experience these dishes for yourself!

We dined .kt and indulged in a variety of modern Japanese and Korean comfort food dishes. The experience was nothing short of fabuloussss đŸ€Œ and I would recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an absolutely satisfying meal in a casual yet elegant space.

About that food! Kamikaze Chicken Sandwich. This delectable creation featured perfectly cooked chicken complemented by spicy aioli, coleslaw, pickles, and jalapeño, all nestled between a soft brioche bun. This was Big Papa’s and he found the combination of flavors and textures to be outstanding. Honestly, I didn’t get any so trust me, he liked it.

Caprese Katsu Sando. This one took the classic Caprese salad to a whole new level by incorporating a crispy katsu twist. The berry katsu sauce added a sweetness, while the fresh basil, tomato, and mozzarella cheese provided a burst of freshness. The balsamic vinaigrette drizzle tied everything together.

For those seeking a comforting noodle dish, the Black Garlic Ramen with Katsu is a must-try. The noodles were bathed in a rich and flavorful black garlic broth that you must drink! Topped with fresh arugula, it offered a balance of flavors and textures that left me feeling warm and content.

The curry options at Katsu Bar are also not to be missed. For those who prefer to eat on the lighter side, the Cauliflower Curry Plate offered a unique twist, with cauliflower tempura adding a crunch to the dish then mushroom lovers will rejoice in the Mushroom Curry Plate. The Kimchi Mandu Curry Plate featuring Korean kimchi mandu, provided a satisfying kick in the dumplings.

The menu offers a diverse range of dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences. The quality of the ingredients and the ex*****on of each dish were evident in every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and comfortable, and the service provided by Nelly was attentive and friendly.

The Waffle is the latest gem to be bookmarked on my list of places to revisit. With a spacious outdoor patio and non-pretentious customer service, I can see myself lounging long after the last crumbs have been wiped off my lips. The seasonal menu is well balanced and has multiple must-tries. One of my favorites is the Pork Belly Hash Bowl. Never has pork belly tasted so healthy! Perfectly flavored with hoisin sauce and a balsamic reduction, the meat and veggies including bell peppers, zucchinis, Brussel sprout leaves, etc. pair up for a delicious, (can-I-say) healthy brunch entree. And of course, there’s the waffles. As much as the Spiced Poached Pear waffle with cranberry chutney was a refreshing change from the usual maple syrup, the Strawberry Cheesecake Waffle won my heart. The strawberry cream cheese frosting - more like a lightly whipped cream cheese than frosting but bursting with strawberry flavors - could be a staple on all my breakfast carbs. Speaking of waffles, the Original Doublewide should satisfy those who tend to skip breakfast for a more square meal called lunch. Studded with bits of bacon, the waffle sandwich is built with a perfectly golden fried chicken breast, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and yes, more applewood smoked bacon. With a side of sawmill gravy, this menu staple most definitely hits the spot - and should energize you to walk the full length of the Walk of Fame - twice! But for the rest of us locals who prefer to people-watch while nursing a drink, the Milk Punch is a delightful change from the usual Bloody Mary or mimosa. Laced with rum and nutmeg, this milky concoction is lightly sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with a cinnamon stick. The adult version of the baby bottle that lulls you to a satisfied and contented bliss, minus the drool. And that’s exactly how I felt after risking a venture into perennial tourist territory. The Waffle makes it well worth the risk. Trust this local.

By now, we have all witnessed the battle of the chicken sandwiches - from spiciest to Southern to every fast food chain joining in the fray. However, once in a while, I have a hankering for a simple chicken dinner. I have seen this restaurant on my many forays to Glendale. So it was way past due for me to revisit. Customer service was genuinely friendly and I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Linda, who was just as ever involved in the logistics as a first timer. Good to know quality and service is still of prime importance after years of business.

The fried chicken at first bite, memories of my childhood family outings came flooding back. There was nothing fancy about the drumstick I bit into but the juicy tender chicken embedded in the crispy fried coating was cooked to perfection. The chicken is best when it’s still piping hot from the kitchen. I also tried the seafood meal and the shrimp was better than the fish but if you’re at Dinah’s, their chicken still rules so don’t forgo the poultry for the seafood. But one must-try is the pineapple coleslaw and I could eat this every day! There was also an iced tea naturally sweetened with pineapple juice which I plan to attempt at home. Why didn’t I think of this earlier? But yes, try the original at Dinah’s before even thinking of attempting a knock off. Beautiful ombrĂ© shade for you Instagramers.

Lastly, I had to try dessert. I sampled the coconut cream pie, as recommended by the staff. Perfectly sweet, but not too much so. At this point, there wasn’t much room left (in my belly that is) but I managed to squeeze in a bite of the pecan pie a mode which was delectable. So will I be back for my own family night out? You bet. There’s nothing more satisfying than a simple fried chicken dinner and don’t forget the pineapple coleslaw. You will not leave hungry. Or broke!
