The Bandera volleyball team battled a pair of tough teams last week, falling in straight sets to TMI before taking Ingram to four sets and falling 3-1. Bandera will host Blanco on Friday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m., for homecoming.

It's been a number of years since we replaced the last screen door on our house with a storm door. I have mixed emotions about that particular modernization. A slamming screen door always brings to mind one of my childhood transgressions, as it seems I was always in a hurry heading out the back door at home. Luckily there were enough kids around so when my mom hollered out "Stop slamming that screen door!!!,” she didn't know which kid was actually causing her the irritation.

The Bandera boys cross country team showed remarkable improvement at the third annual Steve Golemon Invitational Meet Saturday morning, with several runners trimming more than a minute off their race times from last week. The Bulldogs will be off from competition this week and will continue preparation for the McNeil Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20.

The Bandera girls cross country program continued its strong start to the 2024 season with a second place finish at the Steve Golemon Invitational Saturday morning, posting a 2nd place finish as a team with 62 points. The Bandera defense continued to shine and the offense had a record-setting performance through the air, leading the Bulldogs to a second consecutive 2-0 start with a 28-21 win over Ingram Friday night at Warrior Stadium. The Bulldogs will now prep for Friday night’s homecoming game against Lytle, which is set for 7 p.m., at Bulldog Stadium.
