The Virgin Underground collaborative, a free paper seeking to start what could be a beautiful, is looking to develop a mutually satisfying relationship between you and our stock of sharp witted, sarcastically colorful writers who will pen pieces about Providence’s colorful and not so colorful communities. Providence needs another paper delving into the psychological, sociopolitical seasonings of o
ur artistic, religious, political happenings. We’re hoping to satiate you with a litany of ideas conforming to traditional, alternative news genres that will leave you demanding more. We intend to show that we live in a beautifully imperfect, ever-changing world and all it has to offer, so that our lives may be broadened, enhanced and left curious and wanting to ask questions. The stylizations will include underground, and some above ground, reviews, arts and entertainment stories, sports, religious articles, international, national and local news, fictional pieces and sweet outsider cultural tidbits. We will offer profiles and interviews with local, national, and international artists, entrepreneurs, and a weekly chat with a Providence Homeless Survivor, an underground cartoonist, and we’ll feature a cattle call for local lovely damsels, who will be featured in a bi-weekly centerfold, Slum Goddess. Bi-weekly columns will be focused on humor, gossip and fresh, new sociocultural trends arising on the Providence cultural world and more. We DARE you to pick us up and find something that’s not interesting. You may not like what you read, but you WILL be entertained.
