I talked to Sharks bassist Jeff for the first time in 40 years after learning singer Tye had passed in 2016. After leaving Sacramento in 1985 for his international trade Raiders of the Lost Arts, Tye had reformed The Sharks in Hawaii, then later Thailand before moving back to Chicago and reforming again there. On learning he had terminal cancer, he said just let me see my Mets win. They did win the Series, and Jeff says he died a happy man.

I don't have my glasses, didn't know they were important at the time. Elder abuse? I am imagining she is verifying I'm 18 for the cough syrup and voiding transaction as she tells me I have to pay for cough syrup separateIy (leaving out the key word "elsewhere"), she watches me ring up cough syrup again, pay 5.57 (for earlier items I thought she voided), claim I didn't pay for cough syrup, sn**ch my receipt and run off to Supervisor to begin self checkout security trap (see previous post). I'm thrown out of store, they keep my 1.87 GV Kleenex as under the table perk employee security kickback b***y bonus. My guess is there are additional hidden awards or kickbacks for catching "shoplifters", why else would they not just simply fix. Thanks to fb groups for more knowledge and comments than anybody want to deal with.

But given how many issues you get with every other aspect of the self checkout process (items failing to scan properly, machines being broken, "unexpected item in bagging area", etc) that seems to be a very generous assumption.

Beware the Self Checkout.

I tried to buy cough syrup some soda and birthday cake for wife. The machine flagged attendant to verify I'm 18. She doesn't want my id. She works on machine and tells me I have to make separate transaction for the cough syrup. So she watches me ring it up and pay for the cough syrup then sn**ches my receipt and tells me I did not pay. She runs off to supervisor so I follow. Supervisor says I did not pay and I see there is no dollar amount listed for cough syrup. I say of course I paid, she watched me pay, ask her, but clerk runs off instead of backing me up. Why is it even on the receipt? I'm not paying for it twice. So supervisor calls this fine security detail here to throw me out of the store. I'm clearly expendible as a regular customer. I say your machine is broken and you are ripping me off. Nobody cares. Later I figure out she didn't cancel transaction before she told me to ring up the cough medicine separately. And assistant no englais no explain to supervisor, we no help we run away. And I learn the self Checkout machine will take your money but not show on receipt without verification you are 18. So I go to get my empty bags out of the cart and security looks at receipt and tells me I can take the soda. They won't let me buy the birthday cake with Happy Birthday Sandy, they throw me out of the store. With the soda I'm still weirdly out two dollars, definately some malfunction but mainly I have to go to another store to buy cake and nobody warts to be called a liar trying to work the stupid self Checkout machine. Beware self Checkout machines.
