Today’s the day, Ultimate Island Escapes is finally out in the world 🤩

Creating this book was such a huge project, so I’m so excited to finally share with you Australia’s most incredible islands, including planning and travel tips, guides on things to do and where to eat, best times to visit and when to travel for amazing seasonal wildlife experiences - think turtle hatchlings on Heron Island or whale watching on K’gari! 🐋🌴

I hope it introduces you to some islands you might not have heard of before 😍 Make sure to tag us if you grab a copy!! 🥰🥰

K’gari is one of the most unique islands Australia has to offer - the largest sand island in the world, beach and rainforest driving, the iconic Lake McKenzie, whales migrating through the winter and our personal favourite place for a bareboat adventure 😍

Just quietly using my own book to plan our next adventure to K’gari ASAP 🥰🩵

One of our favourite, easy island getaways is ☀️

Just a 45 minute ferry ride from Cairns, Fitzroy Island can be a great day trip or a relaxing stay on the Great Barrier Reef! 🥰 Hike through the rainforest to Nudey Beach, swim with turtles right in front of the resort and grab a cocktail to watch a stunning island sunset at the end of the day! 🐢🌴

It’s a beautiful spot, giving you a taste of the best of and the Great Barrier Reef! 😍

MY SECOND BOOK IS HERE 😍🌴🐚☀️🍉🐳🌸

So excited to finally show you guys my new book ULTIMATE ISLAND ESCAPES: AUSTRALIA 😍 This was such a huge project, with more than 100 days of travel, 60 flights across every state in Australia (all with a one year old along for the ride), and thousands of photos to sort through, so it’s incredible to finally see it printed in real life! 🤩

There are 40 islands included in the book from all around the country to help you plan your next island escape, with all kinds of luxury stays, family fun spots, off the beaten track adventures and independent territories floating in the ocean to explore. 🏝️

Where we’d rather be 😍

We’re taking things pretty slowly in our newborn bubble at the moment, but now that our new little explorer is finally here I’m itching for a new adventure 🙈🌴

Welcome to our page, a little extension of our internet home - exploreshaw.com!

We’re Emma and Thom Shaw, just a married couple in our twenties, travelling the world as often as we can and sharing our adventures on our blog. We both currently work regular jobs in Melbourne at the moment, travelling as often as we can in between work and saving for our next big plan.

Over the last few years, we’ve fallen even more in love with our home country Australia than ever before, and have made it a huge priority to explore Australia as much as possible, so expect to see a lot of beautiful photos from around the land down under.

We want to show our readers and followers that you don’t have to quit your job, sell everything you own and buy a one way ticket solo to achieve your travel dreams. Sometimes it’s just not possible to travel the world full time, or like us – you might just not want to do it on a backpackers budget forever. If you work hard and prioritize, you can have a really great balance of travel life and a regular life.
