Prague Advent and Christmas Choral Festival International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music with Petr Eben´s Prize, choral competition hel

The choral competition has been traditionally organised for more than 25 years in the first Advent weekend in Prague. The event is the oldest and most traditional Advent choral festival in Europe. The festival takes place under the auspices of the City of Prague and is open for non-professional male, female, mixed and children´s choirs and is aimed at Advent and Christmas music. Those choirs that

include a composition by Petr Eben, a famous Czech composer, in their repertoire will be appraised also in Petr Eben´s Prize competition. There is also a not competing category for those choirs, which wish to perform outside the contest and their singing won´t be evaluated. Concerts in Prague churches and singing at Christmas market on the Old Town Square also belong to important programme points of the festival.
