Purchased a DJI RS3 Mini, this thing is sweet! Took it out for a spin on Friday night to get some band shots! I'm really looking forward to developing my Videography skills. Much to learn but I'm here for it.

The Kit

Full mic'd drum kit. XY stereo overhead, kick, snare, rack tom, and floor tom. As well as an AT2020 condenser for the room mic.

This setup does great but there are some upgrades on the list to level up the drum production. Such as a sub-kick mic, and large diaphragm stereo overheads. Then simply upgrading the quality of the existing mics.

The kit is a limited edition Tama Superstar Classic. Right now I have a Mapex Tomahawk Snare which has been a beautiful addition.

All mics run through the Behringer x32 mixer and then into Reaper for recording.

Little cable management action. A cluttered creative space makes for a cluttered mind. I am all about reducing the barrier between me and being creative. When things are dirty or things need to be set up it's easy to push off creativity.

So instead I try to create an environment where when inspiration strikes, I can quickly sit and begin creating without having anything slow down the momentum.

The objective is a space where all instruments are mic'd and ready to record at all times. Walk in press record and go. Same for videography, editing, or any other creative process. Efficiency and organization are key.

Got my hands on a Behringer X32! I am slowly building out a rig that will be an in-ear monitoring rig for my band, a rig for audio engineering live concerts, as well as a rig for recording bands professionally.

The X32 is a powerful piece of gear and I can't wait to put it to work.

Here begins the first of many. I have aspirations of a production company focused on providing audio and video services to musicians.

Including things like music videos, social media content, song recording, live show videography, and band photography.

A one-stop shop of sorts for musicians who feel overwhelmed by everything that's required to make it as musicians that isn't playing the music itself.

There are mountains of things to learn and skills to develop when wanting to be a musician and grow a band. Being heard and seen in the flooded world of social media is difficult. I strive to learn how to create content that shines through and to help others pursue their passions.

I am nowhere near where I want to be but there is no better time than now, so here is where I begin. One project at a time.
