“This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you get rid of unfair practices, quit blaming victims, quit gossiping about other people’s sins, If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places— firm muscles, strong bones. You’ll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.

**Honey from the Lion**

Judges 14:8-9

In fields where shadows linger long,
A tale of strength and struggle strong,
A mighty man with locks of gold,
In ancient days, his story told.

Samson walked with purpose clear,
Through vineyards lush, without a fear,
When from the wild, a lion roared,
Its mighty frame, a fearsome lord.

With hands of steel and spirit bold,
He faced the beast, his courage told,
No sword in hand, no weapon bright,
He fought with faith, and won the fight.

The lion fell, its roar now still,
A testament to Samson's will,
And from its carcass, strange and sweet,
A miracle, a honeyed treat.

From death and dust, from battle's end,
A gift of life, sweet to commend,
For in the hollow of the slain,
A hive had formed, a golden gain.

He took the honey, pure and fine,
A symbol of the grand design,
That even from the darkest strife,
Can spring the sweetest gifts of life.

So when the shadows cloud your way,
And fierce opponents bar the day,
Remember Samson's lion's plight,
And find your strength in darkest night.

For challenges, though fierce they seem,
Are but the prelude to a dream,
And victories, like honey's gold,
Are sweetest when from trials bold.

In every trial, a treasure lies,
In every roar, a sweet surprise,
So face the lions, fear them not,
For honey waits where battles fought.

STIR the gift that is within you with stirring from the very hands of the Father, stirring up by empowerment that comes from the word of God being implemented in your life, stirring by having a life style of fasting and prayer, stirring by being one that studies according to 2 Timothy 2:15, stirring by separating from things of this world and meditating and obeying the word of God.

And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and brought Jehovah's offering, for the work of the tent of meeting, and for all the service thereof, and for the holy garments.
