I am excited, enthused and eager to meet old friends and make new ones and to showcase our rich poetry and culture across cities, venues, audiences. But I am equally excited about The MARGAM, a dance community, an idea that has been taking shape in my head for many years now and is finally coming to fruition. I want this to be a democratic space for and by dancers where there is a free exchange of

constructive ideas, information and dialogue. A dancer for over 3 decades, I have felt the increasing need to connect and communicate with all of you, members of the dance fraternity, either as its contributors or as its audience. Both of which, in my perspective, are imperative to the growth and future of dance. In the world we live in, there is a dire need for positive dialogue. It is my hope and prayer that The Margam will do just that. Its content will provide you access to the fascinating, vibrant and versatile world of Bharatanatyam and other genres of dance and engage you to participate and present your point of view. In a short while from now, the first edition of The Margam will arrive on this page. For now, tell us you want to be associated in our journey.
