here with a focus deck recap! For the last full week of January I worked with The Mind's Eye Tarot and The Universal Folk Oracle.

✨✨✨✨✨

I absolutely loved using 's Mind's Eye Tarot. First of all, this is such a subjective thing but the shuffle on this deck is delicious, all the chef's are kissing, all of them. Maybe it's the weight of the cards or the linen cardstock (a personal fav) but this deck just does things for me, man. The guidebook is top shelf quality too. It's full color, bound like a real book and detailed enough for a beginner to use while also leaving plenty of room for intuitive reading. Interestingly enough, Olivia wasn't necessarily a tarot practitioner prior to beginning this project so she created each card with a super fresh perspective and likely a different viewpoint than many deck creators. She intentionally drew heavy inspiration from the Rider Waite Smith system so the deck would be as beginner friendly as possible. As for the artwork itself - it's SO good omg. Every image is handmade with watercolor paper, markers, gold ink and tea - not an AI image to be seen lol. I would seriously hang so many of these as art prints in my house. After every use I found myself just sitting and flipping through the deck, each image revealing more details every time. I can't wait to keep working with this forevermore. 10/10.

✨✨✨✨✨

's Universal Folk Oracle is a seriously beautiful deck. Per the guidebook - "The intention of this deck is to immerse the viewer in a sense of internal empowerment and trust that can have far-reaching effects on their encounters as they open back up to the world." The folk art style really appeals to my maximalist aesthetic when it comes to, well, everything in my life really. I would personally consider this a cozy deck more than a hard-hitting deck (which is what I'm typically drawn to) - but sometimes cozy is just what the doctor ordered. I wanna spend more time with it before deciding if it has a permanent place in my rotation. If not, .10 will surely love it lol. I do definitely plan on picking up Anita's tarot deck on 02/29 though! 7/10.

Hey friends! here! I'm back with another mini review of last week's focus decks - The Solitary Witch Oracle and The Hush Tarot.

✨✨✨✨✨

Per the guidebook for The Solitary Witch - "Every wise soul, every being who has dwelled alone to deepen their magickal connection, everyone who was forced apart from the wider community to be safe or because they were shunned - this oracle is for you." Lucy (Lucy Cavendish A Magickal Apothecary) created here an oracle deck meant for those of us who don't have the luxury of a coven or community, who are, by all accounts, "witches alone". As with every deck Lucy curates, the guidebook holds a wealth of knowledge that starts with 60 pages of history, explanation, direction and numerous spreads you can use within your practice not just with this deck, but all others - before delving in to each of the 45 cards the deck is comprised of. I really appreciate that she included both a general meaning and a reversal, as this isn't often something you find in most oracle guides. ’s artwork is moody and beautiful, soft and dark and, in my opinion, very evocative of this time of year. Though I am not necessarily a "witch alone", I really enjoyed my time with this deck and look forward to working with it again. 8/10.

✨✨✨✨✨

The Hush Tarot was such a wonderful surprise! This isn't typically an art style that appeals to me but I just love it. I always tell that they like "un-pretty" decks and I think this probably falls into that category but I'm weirdly so into it. The more I worked with it, the more I loved it. To be honest, at first glance the guidebook looks like one of those tiny little throwaway things that come with so many mass market decks (you know the ones with the two sentence, generic AF meanings) - but this guidebook isn't actually like that at all! It's incredibly succinct (a skill I do not personally possess) but very powerful. It shifted my perspective on my still rather amateur understanding of cards I've pulled dozens of times at this point. The color palette and vibe of this deck is also SO PERFECT for this time of year. Jeremy Hush really killed it with this one. 10/10.

Happy Tuesday, friends!!

here with a lil peek into my personal tarot space (inspired by and )! Welcome to where the ACTUAL magic happens!

I love seeing other people's reading spaces/collections and figured I might as well share my own (please share yours and tag me)! As always, my lighting is terrible on a good day but it's very, very grey here in Ohio right now so please forgive these poorly lit pictures - one day I won't live in an actual cave lmao.

I bought this monster of a desk off Facebook Marketplace years ago and it's pretty scuffed up from moving three times since - but it does the job! So what do we have on said desk? For starters I keep several of my favorite tarot and astrology books close at hand on the built in shelves. The little cubby holds baskets of incense, palo santo and sage bundles (all ethically sourced but purchased before I was properly educated on the matter). As you can see, I burn a LOT of incense which and .10 constantly ridicule me for. Do my eyes burn because of it? Yeah maybe sometimes - shut up about it. I also constantly have a fake fireplace "burning" on the tv for ✨ambience✨. You can't really see it but that little tray holds a Sacred Space candle from Art of the Root and the sage bundle and January crystals from my Rose City Raven Celestial Harmony box sit in the abalone shell in front of my lamp. The drawers you see to the left of said tray are monitor stands from Target (also from years ago) that hold all of my parchment, crystals, tarot card stands and ritual oils. Also featured is my latest obsession - the Writual Planner tarot journal that Maeghan bought for my birthday - I haven't missed a day yet and I absolutely love it! The deck shown here is my ol' reliable borderless RWS, my ultimate comfort deck. The lil mushroom blanket under the desk is for the cats, none of which agreed to be photographed this afternoon - they're real jerks like that.

My decks unfortunately have to be stored in a different room (third slide) and their current cabinet is bursting at the seams right now. That's a project for another day though!

here! I got an exciting lil treat in the mail today and I had to share - and you're going to ignore my horrendous lighting because it's so overcast in Ohio right now that this is the best a girl can do, okay? Okay!

Our pals over at are doing a bit of a brand refresh and a product of that is The Celestial Harmony Box. To quote from the brand's website - "Embrace the cosmic rhythms with the Celestial Harmony Box; your monthly guide to navigating and harmonizing with the astrological transits. Each month, you'll receive a thoughtfully curated collection of crystals, herbs, and incense, specifically chosen to align with the unique energies of the current astrological period."

I'll be fully transparent and say that the owner of RCR is a friend of the podcast () and we love her to bits but I did pay for this box with my own money and I'll only be sharing my unbiased and very honest opinions with y'all - cross my heart, hope to die.

So what's January's box like? Well for starters, it came beautifully and very carefully packaged - nary a single dried bit of lavender was disturbed in transit. Upon opening it, you're met with a personalized note from the curator that includes a tarot/oracle card pulled just for you along with a brief energy reading. My Virgo Moon driven ass got the "Surrender to the Flow" card and, well, fine I'LL TRY I GUESS! Next you'll find a list of the monthly astrological transits and what they mean within our lives - something I'll be putting on my fridge for quick reference! Along with this list is another which details the crystals included in this month's box - Labradorite, Sodalite, Amethyst, Sunstone and Carnelian - and the reason each was chosen. I was especially interested in the box for this factor. I'm not yet a crystal collector but I very much WANT to be one. Imagine my collection after a year's worth of boxes! So exciting!

The box is rounded out with a pretty lil sage bundle and RCR's Self Care bath soak (sachets included!). Everything you'd possibly need to set you up for a beautiful, spiritual and intentional month ahead. 10/10 would recommend and I will surely be subscribing! ✨✨✨

Hey y’all, here!

In an unfortunate development, this deck requires a little more elbow grease from my brain than I can give it at the moment so I’m going to be setting it aside for right now. I’m still trying to remember the different suits and two of the suits for this deck just aren’t clicking with me right now. It’s still a beautiful, beautiful deck, it’s just definitely not one I can capacitate at the moment. It requires more study and more familiarity and skill and eventually I plan to be skilled enough to use it! But for now it’ll sit on my desk and I’ll pour through it every chance I get. I’m going to move on to three other decks that I’ll post soon and let you know how it’s going!

Livett the Ghost Tarot () is one of .stack’s self published decks and I’m so excited there are indie retailers out there catering to tastes like mine. I always want super special things, typically independently developed products whether it be makeup, books, or tarot decks (the things that appeal to me most) because they’re doing something no one else is. I hope to find more of them in the days to come and I have some exciting, gorgeous decks to show you in the next few weeks!

back with another Weekly Focus Deck recap!

✨✨✨✨✨

Today we'll be discussing my initial experiences with both the Loputyn Oracle ( ) and the Jupiter Power Tarot ( .sad.girls). The image shown here features some of my favorite cards from each deck - please understand that it was NOT easy to narrow it down this far lmao.

The Loputyn Oracle is comprised of 36 cards - which is a little less than most oracle decks in my collection but I didn't mind (aside from wishing I had more of Loputyn's artwork to appreciate!). The deck details the journey of "the maiden" and "the wolf" as, per Alice Mastroleo, the wolf "hunts her, tempts her, until it becomes - or has perhaps always been - an integral part of her". The cards are free of any titles or keywords and I found that I didn't always need to consult the guidebook to intuit a strong message from the artwork alone. With that being said, the guidebook was wonderfully written and even the single word titles given each card within it were powerful jumping off points for my daily tarot journaling. Let the record show I pulled "Resistance" three times last week - my cards sure do stay yelling at me. 9.5/10 (half a point deducted because the cardstock is already kinda warped).

Jupiter Power is my fourth of Charlie's decks and I was so excited to see they're already teasing Neptune Power over on the SSG IG! The muted color palette of this deck (blue/green/black/white) worked really well with their signature rather irreverent art style and I found it almost soothing in practice. As with most of Charlie's decks - I wouldn't necessarily call either the artwork or the guidebook "beginner friendly". However, as a person with a large collection, I almost prefer something that changes the lens I view my cards through. The guidebook is filled with facts and history regarding the plants depicted on each card and I'm honestly so impressed with how thoughtful and intentional each choice was - none of them seemed remotely phoned in at all. I was able to get some truly powerful readings within my week with these cards. I can't wait to pick them up again soon! 10/10

From the tarot desk of ✨✨✨

Let's talk Justice, baby!

The Justice card (seen here in eleven different depictions from some of my very favorite decks - because, you know, it's the 11th card in the Tarot and all) is my personal Tarot Card of the Year.

What is a Tarot Card of the Year? It's the tarot card (Major Arcana only) assigned to you via your birthdate and the current year (and a lil simple math) that provides deeper insight into the lessons, tests, experiences and challenges you will personally face over the course of the next year. This card can provide an excellent anchor within your tarot spreads and can inspire several tarot journaling sessions throughout the year as you assess and reassess what this card and its themes mean to you as your circumstances shift and evolve.

What was that about math tho? Lemme show ya!

Step One: Add the month and day of your birth to the current year. We'll use me as an example and that would look like this: 10 + 20 + 2024 = 2054

Step Two: Reduce that number further by breaking it down by digit: 2 + 0 + 5 + 4 = 11

Please note that you can continue reducing until you have a single digit, but it isn't necessary. Since this is only applicable to Majors you'll want your number to be 0 - 22 (Fool - The World). If your Step Two reduces to a three digit number, reduce further until you have a double digit or single digit instead.

Step Three: Find your corresponding Major Arcana card and ✨Boom✨ you've got your Tarot Card of the Year! I told ya it was easy.

A thing I find kind of interesting is that 2024 is a Karma year (2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8) and is represented by the Strength card. However, prior to my beloved RWS deck, Strength and Justice were switched - with Justice being in the 8th position and Strength taking the 11th. In many ways I feel like this is going to be a doubly strong karmic year for me. I'm a little intimidated but I feel like I've put in the work so hopefully I'm safe 😂

I would love to know YOUR Tarot Card of the Year in the comments! All the deck information will be there too because I always seem to be running out of room lmao.

Have the best weekend, Spiritual Buddies!!

From the tarot desk of :

I’ve been trying to do simplistic pulls for myself more because I’m honestly being overly cerebral about tarot as a process and I need to break out of it.

Last night I guess I needed some encouragement because I pulled the 5 of Pentacles reversed for myself, which I honestly think I needed.

I think in order to talk about the 5 of Pentacles reversed, you need a tiny bit of context for its upright posture which is feelings of being left in the cold, impoverished, illness, hunger, tired, just struggling to get your basic needs met. In the reverse, it’s a little beam of hope. The snow as it were is on top of everything and in the process of melting. Those feelings are in the process of dissipating. Trust is something that does not come naturally to me at all. It did at one point in my lore, but life very quickly snuffed that out. I’m trying really hard in my Justice card year to trust that things are going to work out for my highest good and this little reminder helps me to remember I’m doing the right thing.

From the tarot desk of comes a mini review!

So, I journal daily using the three card journal (which .10 so kindly gifted me for my birthday this year) and, in an attempt to equally utilize all of my tarot and oracle decks, I'm focusing on one of each per week. I don't quite have 52 of each (YET lmao) so there will definitely be repeats, but generally this will let me sit with each deck for at least a week and that feels much better to me than letting any of them languish in inactivity for too, too long. Also, any decks I don't connect with get rehomed to Maeghan (Artie has very particular tastes lol) so it's really a win-win!

The Dark Wood Tarot is an absolute banger, man. From 's artwork to 's guidebook, this deck is a treat to work with in every possible way. If you're entering this new year dedicated to doing some hard hitting shadow work like I am, this deck will do ya good. When I tell you this eviscerated me at every turn in the best possible way, I'm not exaggerating. This will never leave my deck rotation. I'm genuinely sad I have to shelve it for a bit while I move on to my next focus deck. 15/10.

I chose to feature my personal significator cards here - The Empress and The Queen of Swords. The artwork is literally so stunning, I cannot. Abigail Larson is releasing her own tarot deck in 2025 (I think?) and I couldn't be more excited.

My oracle deck of the week was the Seasons of the Witch Yule Oracle by with art by . Doesn't it work so perfectly with the Dark Wood?? Every deck from the SotW lineup is a joy to work with. Lorraine is releasing Litha (05/07), Lammas (07/02) and Ostara (TBA) later this year to round out the series and I'm super stoked to own all eight decks soon. There's just something about working with specific seasonal decks that really does it for me. These are comforting but very, very honest - like the best kind of friend. I would recommend these decks to anyone who wants to add some seasonally appropriate wisdom to their practice. I can't wait to start working with my Imbolc deck in February! 10/10.

From the tarot desk of we present:

Something a little different! This is a deck I’m gonna be working with through the winter into early spring. Something about soft cool purples and pinks, kind of grungy pastels feel like winter and early spring to me. I just absolutely love the artwork on this deck, it speaks to my love of like..creepy carnival type aesthetics. It’s also a challenge because the images are not so straightforward like a standard Rider Waite Smith deck, it’s going to be a bit of a bear to learn to read with it but I’m down for the challenge 😎

🎡🎠🎢🎟️

I’ve also been burning this candle quite a bit, it’s not my favourite scent out of the ones I received as a gift from my beloved , watery/aquatic scents are not my jam but I like it enough to smell it all day while I’m working, lol. In general I really enjoy the brand , they really knock it out of the park with creating an experience that isn’t a one note scent or something you’d find easily at a big box store or bath and body works or something. It’s a nice little luxurious treat that speaks to my Taurian sensibilities lol.

🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️

Anyway, hope y’all have a good one, I hope you’re taking care of yourselves in preparation for the new year ☺️
