Eborakon

Eborakon "place of the yews"
http://www.eborakon.com/
https://twitter.com/eborakonjournal The name derives from the Brythonic for York, meaning "place of the yews".

Eborakon is a biannual poetry magazine based at the University of York, publishing new writers alongside established poets. We value writing that is rooted, both in the resonances of language as it has been used over the course of history, and in the evocation of place. We are nourished by the writers and critics that have preceded us, at the same time branching out to explore the future. Like the

yew, for us poetry is mysterious and earthly, real matter that is potentially dangerous to savour. Editors: Karl O'Hanlon and Jack Thacker

Assistant Editors: Alex Alonso, Matthew Holman and Anna Mercer

Managing Editor: Dr James Williams

‘Cthulhu and I are friends now. We’re loose again, and ravening for delight.’

Very exciting new poem and blog post by Bethan Roberts.

Year’s End My dreams now seem more real Than my real life, which is divided Between pre-dawn, post-dusk, And the bright, bland light of the department store, Whereas I have always dreamed in technicolour. I still hope there’s something more than the mundane That lives inside this frame of pallid...

These hills history has made A clean, repletive ossuary, It stirs with corpses laid, Ranged: prone and propiatory. We watch and wait on a crest, The ravens are mocking our vigil, Trespassing over Tikveš Like bored renegades. The still Day’s cumulus begins to move, Fresh, hoped-for and soft, They ...
