The station's mission is to provide information (news, weather, sports, community events) concerning Box Butte County first, and the rest of the world thereafter. The KCOW morning show airs Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. The show includes music and wit from Jason Wentworth, news and community interviews with Alex Benzegala, and sports with Mike Glesinger. Open Mic, a buy-sell garage sale on radio type

of program, airs weekdays at 10:00am. News, weather, sports, and markets air at noon. The station also carries play-by-play of Alliance High School football, and boys and girls basketball games, as well as Nebraska Cornhusker sporting events (football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and baseball).

Our Story

KCOW Radio went on the air at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 1949. The station's mission is to provide information (news, weather, sports, community events) concerning Box Butte County first, and the rest of the world thereafter. The KCOW Wakeup Show airs Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. followed by the Workday Show at 9. Mornings on KCOW include music and wit from Jason Wentworth, news and community interviews with Kalin Krohe, and sports with Mike Glesinger. At 10 a.m. it’s Open Mic, a buy-sell garage sale on radio type of program. News, weather, sports, and special features air at noon. In addition to the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s, KCOW carries play-by-play of Alliance High School football, and boys and girls basketball games, as well as Nebraska Cornhusker sporting events (football; men's and women's basketball; and baseball).
