🇺🇲 WWII uncovered: 🎂 BIRTHDAY EVENT: Happy 106th Birthday to US Navy Seabees Veteran Carl Phillips of Pennsylvania 🎂

Please join us at WWII uncovered in wishing US Navy Seabees Veteran Carl Phillips, of Lewisburg Pennsylvania, a most Happy 106th Birthday. Carl celebrated his landmark birthday with a grand party amongst family, friends and fellow veterans at the RiverWoods Senior community where he resides.

Carl, who was stationed in Guam and the Philippines, was married with a family when he left for the Pacific Theater. After the war Carl returned home to Erie and continued to work in the oil fields until later in life when he purchased a farm.

We wish you the most happiest of Birthdays Carl and honor your Service. You are and will always be a member of the Greatest Generation. Cheers!!

🇺🇲WWII uncovered: 🎂 Happy Heavenly Birthday to Wild Bill Guarnere of Easy Company ♠️

Please join us at WWII uncovered in honoring Bill Guarnere on the Anniversary of his 101st Birthday.

Staff Sergeant William J. "Wild Bill" Guarnere Sr., of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, enlisted in the US Army Airborne on August 31, 1942. At 19 years old, Bill entered the service as a Private and began training at Camp Toccoa, Georgia. He soon became a NCO with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army.

Bill Guarnere was honored with the Silver Star, three Bronze Star Medals and two Purple Heart decorations.

After the war Bill returned to Philadelphia. In 1945 he married Frances "Frannie" Peca and the couple had two sons. Wild Bill and Babe Heffron remained the best of friends for the rest of their lives. Bill Guarnere passed away on March 8, 2014 at the age of 90. He lies in rest at the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield Pennsylvania. Lest We Forget.

This was the B-24 Liberator, Little Warrior. Nine of the crew died in the crash. The co-pilot Sydney Benson, looking at the camera, parachuted from the plane, but murdered as a POW, a short time after landing. He was 21.
