At 7:06 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 7th Street and State Street, San Jacinto, for an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located evidence of a shooting and two victims suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where one was pronounced deceased. The status of the other victim is unknown at this time. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation, which is ongoing at this time. No additional details are available.

Around 1:16 AM Riverside County Cal Fire along with California Hwy Patrol responded to interstate 15 S SO / NICHOLS RD for reports of a vehicle over turned. Upon arrival they located two vehicles one on both sides of the freeway with one over turned with one person was transported to a near by hospital drugs or alcohol have not been ruled for causing the crash.

At approximately 12:39 AM. Riverside County Fire Department was dispatched to a solo vehicle traffic collision on the Southbound I-15 North of Bundy Canyon Road in the City Of Wildomar. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a solo vehicle with both occupants ejected from the vehicle. Both occupants were pronounced deceased on-scene. Alcohol and Drugs have not been ruled out for the cause of the crash.

On May 26, 2024, at 7:02 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Butterfield Stage Road and Channel Street in Temecula regarding the report of a traffic collision. Prior to deputies’ arrival, a driver involved in the collision left the location on foot.

The Southwest Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the vehicle traveling southbound on Butterfield Stage Road entered the intersection against a red signal, as the other vehicle entered the intersection on a green signal traveling westbound on Channel Street. Witnesses provided deputies with the suspect’s direction of travel. Deputies located and detained the suspect, who was identified as 36-year-old Matthew Thomas Jackson of Temecula. He was arrested for hit-and-run and driving under the influence and booked into Cois M. Byrd Detention Center.

The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to local area hospitals with moderate to serious injuries. This investigation is ongoing.

A temporary road closure of Butterfield Stage Road near Channel Street was necessary to process the scene and collect evidence.

A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy had minor injuries Saturday evening after a crash during the pursuit of an accused kidnapping suspect in Chino. Around 9:26 p.m., deputies responded to a liquor store in the unincorporated area of Chino on the 3600 block of Riverside Drive, where a woman said she had been kidnapped and pointed out the suspect, who had remained in the area. The suspect fled as deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, causing one deputy to crash in the area of Riverside Drive and Homestead Place, San Bernardino Sheriff Sgt. Stacy Tarver said. It was unclear if anyone else was injured in the collision. Personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol continued the pursuit into San Diego County, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled the area on foot in the city of Escondido near the 15 Freeway and Gopher Canyon. A perimeter was established and the suspect was taken into custody around 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department along with California Highway Patrol Responded to Interstate 215 S / ETHANAC for several reports of a several vehicle crash with one possibly overturned. The first arriving engine reported three vehicles involved and requested three American Medical Response units. A total of four people were taken to a nearby hospital a red sedan was called in for 23109 prior to the incident.
