The results are both otherworldly, yet instantly comprehensible.
We are treated with this mind-bending live set via Fault Radio from The Observatory resident Nic Ford, who also released his single 'Cyberd' on our Katha compilation last year. Hat's off, it's a trip

Fahmi Mursyid is an experimental electronic musician from Bandung, West Java. His creative work is established by Indonesian attitudes specifically from Sundanese culture. Using a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments in a variety of combinations to create glitchy, shimmering and swirling atmosphere. With an extensive discography including one instrument session among Neel and Donato Dozzy via Aimée Portioli’s fantastic One Instrument label.
Sunda Bamboo tells the story of a mystical area deep in the rainforest. Paying homage to dear planet Earth, mother nature’s unmistakable beauty, and the endless peculiarities rising to the fore.
Temple Rat - The Garden of Earthly Delights
Growing up in the city of Chengdu in China. Mei Yuxin aka Temple Rat started as an earnest musical exploration at the early age of nine learning how to play the traditional Chinese Erhu, a genuinely mysterious two-stringed folk instrument made from carved wood and snakeskin, sometimes known aka known as the Chinese two-stringed fiddle.
"The Garden of Earthly Delights" is a kaleidoscopic world of unusual creatures and bewitching natural phenomena. Uncovering the weird, forgotten, and mysterious, inviting the listener to co-create the rainforest as an imagined space and to discover the storyteller within.
Ying Shui Di Jiang - 英水帝江
Ying Shui Di Jiang is a Chinese based music collaboration of multiple musicians scattered around the world. They experiment with blending eastern sounds using traditional instruments in a contemporary interpretation with drone elements, free jazz improvisations and industrial electronics.
Inspiration is drawn from the tales of the three religions that impacted on vital aspects of Chinese traditions. '英水帝江' (aka a monster in Chinese myths) is an enchanted tale that travels to a land far away. A ten-minute voyage through high mountain meadows, thunderstorms and Chinese Buddhist monks breaking dawn.
