It’s officially Rocktober! 🤘🎃🤘

Issue 001 hits the shelves this weekend with a cover story on the lovely Miss Emily Burton of Fireball Ministry and Black Sabbitch. Much more inside including a local concert calendar, music reviews, town map, classifieds, horoscopes, and other goodies.

We had way too much content to fit into issue 001, but there’s still some room in issue 002 (which comes out mid-month), so if you’re interested in placing an ad please reach out!

Happy heavenly birthday to the legendary Herb Jeffries who would have been 111 today. Herb and I met almost 20 years ago at the Java Lounge (which is now the Pure Bean Idy location) and he was originally going to be the first cover story for Idyllwild Rocks back in 2018. Also in that first issue were going to be interviews with Casey Abrams and Juls Phillips but the Cranston Fire derailed the progress and everything was put on the back burner until now.

Herb loved Idyllwild and had a special place in his heart for local musicians. He was very much a local celebrity. People would flock to him everywhere he went, especially at Cafe Aroma where he had his own private room, adorned with posters and other memorabilia from his music and film careers. Most of his regalia can now be found at La Casita.

Happy birthday to a local legend who always had a song in his heart and who meant so much to so many marginalized people over the years. 🤠🎶

Issue 00 is done!! This is our introductory September issue that has been delayed the ENTIRE time since our last post! 🤬

But we’re super excited and not going to dwell on the hang-ups. We’re not going to kick ourselves over the fact that this was supposed to launch during the summer. It’s FINALLY done and at least before the end of the month.

We’re moving swiftly on issue 01 to make sure this doesn’t happen again. And already starting on content for issue 02 as well. We want to make sure our Rocktober issues are the best they can be! 🎃

Hey folks! We have been hard at work getting this re-launch off the ground and running into nearly every roadblock along the way. We missed the summer launch that we’d planned but are on target to hit the town as soon as next weekend. We’re already working on the next issue so that it hopefully will be a seamless follow up. We’ll keep you posted!
