Shirley: 28-35’s, Female, POC. Civically Engineer, Outdoorsy hiker. Maxines best friend, dating Sammy and vise versa depending on the reality time line.

Maxine: 28-35’s, Female, POC. Accountant frustrated by everything, panicky. She is in love with Shirley.

Sammy: 28-35’s, Male, POC. “Job Creator” entrepreneur, uncultured, overly sensitive bro. He has a toxic obsession with Shirley.

Reporter: 35-45, Female, POC. Anchor woman delivering the end of the world news story.

Danielle
30’s Female, BIPOC as most cast is. Danielle is part of a group of survivors in a post downfall of society due to an unseen, heard enemy. Danielle will need to express fear, dread, and panic. Some minor stunt work of falling and simulated strangulation.

Danielle is the final piece to the cast.

Shooting June 25th/26th on location in Willsonville.
Transportation can be provided.

This is a no budget short film food, credit, copy all provided.
No one who’s part of this production is being paid. This is a personal collaborative project.

Casting Call – "Quicksand"

“Quicksand” is a fast-paced fight action series. Everyone is doing this for fun and for free, there will be rad reel footage too. Most of the crew/cast have been vaccinated. Covid Safety Protocols will be in place and taken very seriously, and PPE will be available on set. Creatives in the PDX community have come together to make exciting content and develop a 6-episode series blended with the short series, “Buried”.

Character Description:

Blanton or Bethany Stockwell - 60’s, dapper/classy, articulate, a cross between southern charm and British aristocracy. They founded and now run a secret agency that contracts with the government to carry out assignments to infiltrate large organized crime syndicates and conduct high-profile assassinations. Stockwell, a borderline sociopath, could enjoy afternoon tea while watching their own kin tortured to death.
Ambition and power propel Stockwell, who could crumble the American government with dark secrets that would make J. Edgar Hoover jealous. Stockwell was a top elite agent in the CIA before creating the Sliver Foundation with secrets protected by the government at all costs.

This character can be any race/ethnicity, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation.

Looking to cast soon for a short scene, this character will grow into a more prominent reoccurring character in subsequent episodes to follow.
