Our story
Harlequin is a music lover, DJ and Producer. Combining the many sounds and styles she has come to love, she found her vibe as a DJ playing deep house, disco tech and techno, often incorporating the nostalgic 90's sounds that have been a staple in her journey through her music evolution. For Harlequin music is a healing tool, she has been dedicated to music and art her entire life, playing multiple instruments from a young age, and always in some form of dance/movement class.
"I have been playing out under my Harlequin in Eugene, Portland, and the Bay Area for over a decade. Harlequin is my real name. "
DJ, Producer, Dancer; an all around electronic music enthusiast. For over 15 years house music has been at the center of Harlequin’s life, from the start she occupied dance floors from open till close, always in preparation for the next chance to dance the night away. Harlequin began her journey as a DJ after years of exposure to her favorite electronic music sounds on the Pacific Northwest Coast, there was no other option then to search out and share the sounds she passionately came to know and love. Committed to playing those deep techy sounds that encompass dance floors with healing frequencies, she moves the crowd and creates vibin' dance floors at every show she plays. Continuously bringing the freshest sounds whilst staying ever true to her eclectic, primal side. Over a decade later, Harlequin brings an unforgettable performance to each show she plays, for the love of making people wiggle and move. From a pair of technics turntables to the evolution of technology that brought CDJ's. Old School Veteran Miles Airon taught Harlequin how to DJ. Harlequin learned to beat match by ear with two pieces of Vinyl when she was 17. She is prepared to play music in any atmosphere. Although Harlequin enjoys collecting a variety of electronic music to be ready for any situation and party atmosphere, her heart will always belong to Tech House.
What make her stand out beyond her sound? Harlequin designs and sews all of the clothing she wears during her performances. You can find her wares for sale on etsy.com/okikaidesigns.
