Where is the oldest Chinatown in North America?
“As the Chinese diaspora spread across the globe in the 1800s, neighborhoods that came to be known as ‘Chinatown’ developed in major cities all over the world. The first of its kind in North America, formed in the mid-1800s during the California Gold Rush, was in San Francisco, California. It remains not only the oldest in North America, but also the largest district of its kind outside of Asia.”
