Now it´s finally time for pre-orders of "Hit The Hay Vol. 13" and The Morells "You´re Gonna Hurt Yourself". HTH contains the usual mix of pop and more rootssounding songs and The Morells contains 16 previously unreleased tracks recorded in 82 and 84 plus D. Clinton Thompson´s solo singles for the first time on CD. The following are previuosly unreleased on HTH: Bill Lloyd, Richard Ferreira, The Nashvilifiers, Hitchhikers, The Morells, Lou Whitney. Planned release date is August 4th, and they are both limited to 200 copies. "Hit The Hay Vol. 13" costs $20, and The Morells costs $15. Payment to Paypal [email protected]

It was really great to meet Johnny Spampinato again. The last time I met him was when he played with NRBQ here in Sweden 2004, but we have been in touch for 30 years.

What a brilliant show it was at KomBar in Gothenburg last night with Johnny Spampinato & The Value Leaders! This song "Be Here Now", was on our first "Fireworks" compilation with The Incredible Casuals that Johnny used to be in. A song by The Value Leaders will be on the upcoming "Hit The Hay" compilation.

Here´s some news for you all from Sound Asleep HQ. There has been talks for several years about a Bob Woodruff vinyl LP. Now, we have sorted out a lot of things, and this is what it looks like. We have agreed on which songs that will be on the LP, and there´ll be two songs from ”The Lost Kerosene Tapes, 1999”. It will be new mixes of the songs, and they will be remastered. Then there´ll be two never before released outtakes from the ”Desire Road” sessions including great guitarplaying by James Burton among other things. On top of that, there´ll be eight songs that never have been released before, including a great duet with Lucinda Williams. The LP will be released on colored vinyl in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with never before seen photos. We are not sure exactly when it will be released, but we wanted to share this info with you now. Our hopes is that it should see the light of day late this year. Stay tuned for more details!

I´m doing some market research. Usually it´s boring to be asked questions in such researches, but I thought this might be more fun to reply to. Me and Christer Warholm had a CD Club years ago where we released hard to find and previously unreleased stuff on CD in limited editions. Now, we have a new idea, and that is to release limited editions of 12" vinyl records on colored vinyl with nice covers. It could be stuff that´s only been out on CD, such as a whole CD by an artist, a compilation of stuff from several CD´s by an artist, stuff that has only been out on cassette, or even previously unreleased material. We think it would be cool to release two records at a time, and you have to subscribe in advance to get them. The music can be anything that Sound Asleep is known to release, so pop, country, countryrock and anything in between would be possible, but be sure that anything that we would release would be of the highest quality. Please, let us know, if this is something that you might be interested in, and if we get enough interest, we will start to look for stuff that we would want to release.

Here is some exciting news for y´all. At the same time that we will release the 30th Anniversary "Hit The Hay", we will release a CD with The Morells! It will include 16 tracks recorded in 1982 and 1984 and has only recently been transferred from the original 2" tapes and made ready for release. It could´ve been the follow up to their great and legendary first LP "Shake And Push", and we are very happy and proud to be able to release it. If you don´t know who The Morells were, three of the band members, D. Clinton Thompson, Lou Whitney and Joe Terry, were also in the great band The Skeletons. As an extra bonus on the CD, you get six songs from the D. Clinton Thompson solo singles for the first time on CD. Stay tuned for more details!
