Went out this morning and fished the waters I had planned to fish for Day 2 of the East Coast Snakehead Fishing Tournament.

It’s not a one for one comparison because the conditions aren’t the same, but I do wonder what I could’ve done if I had been able to go out for Day 2, because this morning was fantastic!

The good news: I caught all the action on video and aim to have it out to you soon (sampling of the catches in pics below).

Fished Day 1 of the ECSF Kayak Only Snakehead Tournament today.

I’ve ended day one in 5th place. Wait till you see the video of me losing these fish today. I had things happen today that even I’ve never seen before 😂

To have a shot at winning tomorrow all I have to do is catch between four and five dragon class Fish by no later than 10:30 AM. I’m sure it won’t be a problem 😜😂

Our final trail series tournament, Legion of Anglers Elite Snakehead Kayak Trail Series: Upper Bay out of Turner’s Creek, is this coming Sunday folks!

Happy Father’s Day everyone!

I was fortunate enough to have a mother and father who introduced me to and educated me in the wilderness and the water. Part of my appreciation for them is carried forward in what I do with Kambotrout Fishing to teach those who weren’t as fortunate.

I only got 3 quality strikes yesterday, but they were the 3 strikes I needed 🙏

I won 🥇 place yesterday at the VKAE - Virginia Kayak Anglers Elite Snakes at Dark (evening ) Tournament!

Congrats to all my fellow winners! Under those bluebird skies conditions, I have nothing but respect for all the competitors who stayed on their grind out there 👏

Thanks very much to VKAE for another very well run tournament and I look forward to seeing yall at the championship!

I’ll show you all in the video, but at the end of this day, I was suffused with both exhaustion and pride.

Suffice it to say that it feels so good when all the grinding, observation, hours of planning, satellite recon, weather analysis, lure/gear considerations, terrain analysis, and decision pay off 🙏

Caught one of the FATTEST - if not THE FATTEST - that I’ve ever caught. This was a couple days ago.

She was only 33” but weighed in at just under 16-POUNDS (15.8 to be exact). She ate the DRAVE USA Ripper.
