Hi everyone, I hope you all found the second part of Yvonne Laker’s case interesting. I really struggled to structure the episode so any feedback would be much appreciated.

Here is a reminder that if you’d like to support the work I do on the show and you don’t have Patreon then you you can do so by sending a one off amount directly to [email protected]

At around 6pm on Thursday the 14th of November 1996, 47 year old Vera Holland from Shinfield in Berkshire disappeared during what should have been a five minute walk to the local KFC. Two days later, her body was found dumped in a fly tip by the side of road. She had been beaten, strangled, and fina...

Hello All,

If all goes to plan I'll be recording a new episode of Outlines tomorrow and it should be out on Friday.

In the meantime, I've reopened my Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/theoutlinespodcast and you can sign up to support the show for just £3 a month. Which would be a massive help.

Hope you're all keeping well and I look forward to your feedback when the latest episode is released.

I don’t suppose that anyone has a Gazette subscription and can copy and paste this article in the comments for me? It’s behind a pay wall which I definitely object to. Oh and Merry Christmas everyone.

Across Essex, there are 27 murder cases which, since 2000, remain unsolved

Hope all of you who haven’t heard them already are enjoying the bonus episodes.

I just wanted to scoot on here and say thank you to everyone who’s sent the show a PayPal donation recently. It makes all the difference when it comes to being able to afford to keep Outlines up there for you to enjoy while I’m busy attempting to preempt the many things our baby might need once they arrive.

Thanks as always for all your support.

This episode was previously a Patreon exclusive and is now available to everyone. If you enjoy it then please consider making a donation to the show at Paypal via [email protected] which will help both with keeping the show costs covered during my maternity leave and also definitely help towards easing the anxiety I'm feeling about coping with a baby once they arrive.

On the 27th of August 1974 a gruesome discovery was made not far from the small Norfolk village of Cockley Cley. Hidden under a light brown plastic dust cover which bore the marking NCR, there lay the body of a woman. Her arms were tied behind her back, her legs bent at the knee, but worst of all, her head had been sawn off and was nowhere to be found. Despite the use of isotopic analysis to identify the kinds of environments the woman might have been exposed to during her life, as of 2022, her identity and even the cause of her death remain a mystery.

This is a bonus episode, first released as a Patreon exclusive in January 2022. For those who were wondering where I've been- the short story is that I'm pregnant, (due in July if all goes well), panicked about being able to afford a baby and since the morning sickness eased I've been focusing on pa...

Hi Everyone,

I finally feel able to fill you all in on what is happening and why I’ve been so absent recently.

In mid November I started feeling sick all the time when I looked at a screen. I could barely work through it and eventually I couldn’t at all. It was then that I discovered I’m pregnant… which was very much a surprise (a lovely one) for myself and my partner. While the sickness has gone for the most part, I’ve had a series of other problems which have made the experience up to now (I’m half way through as of today) incredibly emotionally taxing and as you know, I’ve struggled to put my mind to Outlines. Last week I started feeling unwell and it turns out it’s covid. That in itself was enough to knock me out for a few days but it’s been compounded by some higher risk factors meaning that I’ve had to start blood thinners. I’ve had to postpone both my paid work and my latest Patreon episode but mentally I’m just not in the right place with all the extra worries Covid has brought.

As for the future of the show. If I can’t put my mind to it by the end of March I’ll pause Patreon payments and only resume them when I’m ready to get back to Outlines both on the main feed and Patreon regularly, although I don’t know when that might be. I apologise for being so vague but the health of our baby and myself has to be the number one priority. We had the 20 week scan yesterday and everything looks to be absolutely fine which is why I’ve left this announcement until now.

While Patreon support means that the show can be sustainable even when I’m not producing episodes, I’ve had to expend the energy I have on paid freelance work to make sure that we will be able to afford the extra costs that a baby brings with them. On that note, I’m always open to research, writing and family tree research if anyone us anything they’d like to hire me for. As for Outlines, it’s the most incredible and fulfilling, if heartbreaking project I’ve ever worked on and as soon as I’m ready to give it my everything I’ll be back to it.

Thanks for sticking with me, and I hope you are all well.

⚠️Cold Case appeal | Seven-year-old girl brutally murdered⚠️

*We want to hear from anyone with suspicions or information*

Thames Valley Police is making a public appeal on the 30th anniversary of the murder of Stacey Queripel.

The seven-year-old went missing from her home in Ladybank in Bracknell on January 24, 1993.

Tragically, her body was found later the same day in woodland near South Hill Park.

We believe there are people who have suspicions about Stacey’s murder, but for whatever reason they are yet to inform the police. The time has come to provide that information so we can get justice for Stacey and her family.

You can report any suspicions or information by:

📧 Emailing [email protected]

🔗Visiting our website

☎️Calling 101

👮Or visiting a police station, quoting reference 650 (23/1).

Alternatively, you can contact the Independent charity Crimestoppers via their website or by calling 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.

The latest episode of Outlines is out now.

On the evening of Sunday the 24th of January 1993, 7 year old Stacey Queripel reportedly slipped out of the home she shared with her mother and young sister in the town of Bracknell in Berkshire. Three hours later she was discovered in nearby woodland where she had been strangled with her own necklace. Almost 30 years later, what happened to Stacey that night remains a mystery.

Thanks to all of you who helped make the location drive for this one possible.

Still time to enter if you're interested in helping out and potentially winning a few pieces of merch. Thanks to all of you who have already entered. I managed to get down to Berkshire yesterday and I couldn't have done so without your contributions. It didn't cover everything but still made the world of difference.

*GIVEAWAY TIME*

Thought I'd do a little competition via Buy Me A Coffee to help fund my next research trip. (Yes I'm struggling to get to Berkshire right now.)

Anyone who wants to contribute by next Wednesday (including those who have donated this month already) will be in with the chance of winning some merch. There's a badge, a magnet, and a book on the murder of Linda Smith signed by the author. The winner will be picked randomly and up to 10 other people (I might be being optimistic about the number of people who will enter) will receive the Outlines badge.

Just make sure to head to buymeacoffee.com/outlinespodcast and I will contact you via your email address if you win.

This episode was all set to be a Patreon exclusive but when I finished writing it, I realised I couldn't justify releasing it to so few people. Luckily my patrons understood, and so instead it's available to everyone as of now...

On Wednesday 16th October, 1985, 63 year old Cyril Martin, a coma patient, died 7 weeks after being brutally attacked while he slept in an abandoned hut in Maidenhead, Berkshire. While news coverage of Cyril’s death revealed little in the way of clues as to whom might have killed him, a deeper look revealed a long forgotten tragedy. One which began almost 17 years before Cyril’s murder even took place.

On the 12th of June 1982, 50 year old Brenda Haines was found unresponsive in a bath at her home on Longleat Gardens in Maidenhead. By May of the following year, her husband, Michael, was on trial for her murder. The story that emerged was one of violence, mental illness and alcoholism and the circumstances surrounding Brenda’s case remain as relevant today, as they were back then.

Hey All,
Hope you're all caught up on the Berkshire episodes thus far. In a small attempt to help me cover my (ever rising) costs, I've decided to try a new form of donation for those of you who aren't comfortable committing to Patreon. So, if you'd like to give something towards Outlines you can do so at Buy Me a Coffee where you can choose a one off amount without being tied down to tier limits or recurring payments. If you've enjoyed the show and have a few quid spare I'd massively appreciate it.
Jess

Coming at 5pm is a special collaboration with the True Crime Enthusiast podcast. We're looking at the case of Mark Tildesley, who disappeared from a funfair in Wokingham, Berkshire, on June 1st, 1984.

I warn you, it's a long, difficult episode and the research around Mark's case led to me having nightmares but it's a story worth telling. I hope you'll all agree.
