Oscar buzz is already circulating around Killers of the Flower Moon breakout star Lily Gladstone who is set to campaign for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 96th .

If nominated, Gladstone would make as the first Native American Nominee in The Academy's nearly 100 year-old institution honoring cinematic arts and motion picture sciences.

Of course is was our beloved Sacheen Littlefeather, a member of the Screen Actors Guild, who became the first Native woman to stand onstage at the Academy Awards ceremony in 1973, when she famously declined to accept the Oscar for Best Actor at the request of Marlon Brando.

The Western starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone opens on Oct. 20.

The world premiere of Martin Scorsese's epic tragedy, Killers of the Flower Moon, is now one month away, and we for one cannot wait to see what is already being hailed as a modern masterpiece.

This project is very intimate and close to our hearts as we were on location for the entirety of the production just outside of the Osage Nation in Oklahoma. It's been a long time coming, but we hope that this film can indeed bring about a fundamental retelling of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples from their own cultural narratives, languages, and perspectives.

“Hollywood has a long history and chequered past in its depiction of Native American people,” Leonardo DiCaprio tells British Vogue. “We need to do more. You know, we are coming towards a great reckoning of our past. The more that these stories can be told in a truthful way, the more it can be a healing process.”

As Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone team up with director Martin Scorsese for autumn’s biggest epic, murder, mystery and missing millions are all in play. Yet, with ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, the actors tell Afua Hirsch their mission was to bring a shocking 100-year-old tale to the scre...

The 19th News Education reporter Nadra Nittle explores the truth of these women's lives and the response the state is getting for its new social studies standards. As the state draws ire for its new social studies standards, historians are shedding light on the life experiences of women like Elizabeth Keckley and Betsey Stockton.

For many years now, we have been in awe of the courageous character and fearless reporting of special correspondent Jane Ferguson. In her new book, “No Ordinary Assignment: A Memoir," Jane shares stories from combat zones in Afghanistan, Ukraine and Yemen to the aftermath of the recent earthquakes in Turkey.

In this interview from PBS NewsHour, Ferguson sits down with Amna Nawaz to discuss the challenges she's faced as a correspondent in war-torn countries, her years growing up in Ireland, and how she has maintained her sense of grace, compassion, and empathy for humanity in the most tragic circumstances.

Read an excerpt from her memoir with the link in the comments below.

The only we STAN, Justice 🗽

One year ago today, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was sworn into office as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

"It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, but we've made it! We've made it — all of us." — Ketanji Brown Jackson

This appointment was, and will continue to be remembered as a critical, overdue turning point for representation for Black women and girls everywhere.

Like so many around the world, we are deeply moved by the passing of legendary icon, Tina Turner.

Tina was, is, and always be Goddess. Muse. Queen. All of these things, and more. An artist, a singer, dancer, actor, and powerhouse performer.

But I think, what drew me to her was her spiritual transformation as a woman leading her own life, crafting her own destiny, letting go of the past, and moving forward in her own authenticity and integrity.

Tina was a survivor, a trailblazer, and a feminist warrior. We will miss her dearly, but feel so thankful to have her words, music, image, and voice here on Earth for generations to discover, revisit, and learn from, over and over again.

Rest well Goddess xoxo
