Millions around the West today are blindly celebrating International Yoga Day, not knowing the core philosophy of yoga. Not one of them has opened any Hindu scriptures.
Though they believe that India is world’s yoga capital but try to delink yoga from Hinduism, this is very funny to think as an ex-hindu.

So, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Hinduism and what we know as yoga today is inseparable. If you think you just do stretching then you shouldn’t be in anyway bothered by someone who is claiming yoga is paganism or that yoga is Hinduism and if you are a Christian, you should in fact support it.

But if you are bothered by it then you somehow feel like your style of stretching looks more of like yoga poses and if that’s the case or if you are struggling to really understand that if yoga can be separated from Hinduism? Then here are some verses from the four most important Hindu scriptures on yoga:

-Hatha Yoga Pradipika: When we talk about different yoga poses/asanas, we are talking about Hatha yoga. The book opens like this “Salutation to the glorious primal guru, Sri Adinath who instructed the knowledge of Hatha yoga (Chap 1.1).”

-Gheranda Samhita: In the second chapter, it begins like this “There are eighty-four hundreds of thousands of asanas described by Shiva. Among them are Padmam, Kurma, Vriksha asanas (Chapter 2.1-6).”

-Shiva Samhita: In this book we get to see how by practicing yoga or simply by chanting the word AUM the practitioner destroys his past and present karmas. This proves one has to believe in reincarnation/karmic theory before starting to do real yoga (Chapter 3.48-51). We also find mention of several Hindu gods name over and over again in Chapter 2, Chapter 5. We find the name of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Saraswati. Can the names be taken off from this book of yoga?

-Yoga Sutras of Patanjali- In chapter 2.44-45 it says “By study comes communion with the lord in the form most admired. Realization is experienced by making the lord the motive of all actions.” Who is the lord here? In Sanskrit here in this verse, the word is Isvarapranidhana which means surrendering or being devoted while studying the philosophy yoga.
But devoted to whom? As we know before a yogi starts doing yoga, the word AUM is chanted, the Yoga Sutras say in chapter 1.27-28, it is the sound of the supreme lord.

Is it enough evidence now to say that Yoga is Hinduism?

Though the main question here for me was who are these gods? What was Shiva’s life like?

The more I read the Hindu scriptures the further I went away from my Hinduism.

Important reminder:

An example of someone who is “getting away with it.”

THIS is the guy who wrote “The Passion Translation” of the Bible, which has been endorsed by Bethel Church and is still available on YouVersion and other apps, despite the fact that it has been panned by numerous scholars as unreliable.

Does Brian Simmons deny that he said these things?

This is stuff Brian Simmons, author of The Passion Translation of the Bible, has claimed… (I have video footage of all of these claims)

1. He's gone to heaven, grabbed two books from “the library of heaven” and brought them back to earth.

2. Billy Graham visited him in a dream.

3. God gave him secrets of Hebrew and Greek that he has used to make his new translation of the Bible.

4. His wife has levitated off the ground twice and has seven dreams from God every night.

5. The great last days harvest will begin in 2013 when every stadium in New York will be filled with evangelistic activities, and continue through 2020 when it will really ramp up. (Imagine someone prophesying that 2020 will be a great year of public outreach events). 30 million Americans will get saved during this time.

6. Between 2015 and 2016, 20% of Californians will get saved.

7. He went on a long ride, on a fiery chariot, through the northeast area of the U.S. and watched the sunrise with “a prophet whose name you would know.”

8. God touched his head and supernaturally “expanded the capacity” of his brain. Brian says he confirmed this with a “top brain mapping scientist.”

9. One day in the future God will give him a book that has all the unwritten works of Jesus. This will spark a massive new revival around the world.

10. Brian will one day have so much glory on him that people within a 50 mile radius will feel it.

11. One day soon (as of several years ago) God would literally put supernatural pillars of fire over church buildings so that people won’t have to ask where the church is. They will see it.

12. Brian understands the book of Revelation better than other people because God gave him the “spirit of revelation.”

13. Adam teleported around the Garden of Eden.

14. In order for him to translate the Bible he says “It was like I received a chip” in his head and that “Immediately, downloads came.”

15. Many of his supernatural revelations and new understandings of the Bible are not only included in his Passion Translation of the Bible but are also included in the footnotes.

16. Fire once shot out of his head and caught a church on fire. They had to call the fire department and replace the sound system.

17. He once went to the store to get milk and the glory of God was so powerfully on him that everyone he passed by just fell over. He first thought they were all having heart attacks but then realized it was the glory.

18. He doesn’t understand why more people won’t call the Holy Spirit “her.”

Some of these claims can be tested and some can not. The ones that can be tested (such as prophecy about stadiums and specific numbers of people getting saved) are demonstrably false. What does that tell you about the ones that can’t be tested?

There’s a reason why no one who gets saved out of the New Age becomes a progressive Christian…

Anyone want to take a guess why?

What’s your biggest take away from our conversation with Mike Winger& Costi W. Hinn? 🎙️

Just got this really encouraging message & re-sharing it with their permission..
👇🏻

“I just want to say thank you for the Mike and Costi episode!

I am only 17 minutes in and am sitting in my office almost in tears.

I can already tell it is going to be relatable to my situation and I am so excited people are talking about this!

My last UPC "Bishop" was really into the prosperity gospel and fake healings.

At one point, I think around 2010, he "prophesied" through a dream he had that in 2014, the church would build a new building to seat 1000 and even have a helipad to accommodate all of the people coming to him for their healing.

(It was a country church with less than 150 members) Needless to say, that has yet to happen.

As a person living with chronic illness, I was taught there was something wrong with me that I wasn't healed.

I begged God to heal me too many times to count which set me up for grave disappointment when it never happened.

I learned through experiencing my own defeat while simultaneously listening my pastor galliently tell stories from the pulpit of his healing successes that God must not love me like he did other people.

Or maybe there was something fundamentally wrong with me and God had forgotten me altogether.

Or worst yet, this "God" I had heard about my entire life wasn't loving at all, but instead cold, cruel, and calloused.

Fast forward to now. I have had to relearn everything I "knew" about God. I've had to learn about his traits and love. It's been a journey to say the least. You guys know that part.

This past few weeks, I've faced potentially a life altering medical situation and it has hurled me into my old insecuries about the very character of God.

My therapist asked me yesterday if I genuinely believed God is good, and I struggled to answer that honestly.

It's difficult to believe God is good when you have been taught he is like a genie in a bottle for those who do all the things "just right."

So here I am, struggling through a faith crisis, yet again. But this time, I get to watch as other people publicly validate everything I experienced, and that is beyond helpful.

Prosperity gospel hurts people.

How many of those have left God altogether after being victimized by this bad theology?

And I don't blame them. If God is anything like Benny Hinn, or my old pastor, I think I'd rather take my chances elsewhere.

Thanks for all you do. Sincerely.”

Welcome back as we rejoin guest James Rayment to further the discussion on Islam.

In this episode, we learn the history of Islam after Muhammad's death and the origins of the Quran.

We also discuss the succession of Islamic leaders throughout time and compare interesting similarities of Islamic history with Mormonism.

Lastly, we look at the rise and fall of the “Islamic Golden Age”, the Crusades, and their wars with the empires of the world.

Our good friend Melissa Dougherty finally dropped her video on MLM’s & it’s definitely worth the wait…🙌🏻

Regardless of where you stand, we’re pretty confident you’ll walk away with some takeaways or things to consider.

PS, that’s a nice shirt 😎

It's finally here: The MLM video.

I explore their allure and controversy. And let me tell you... MLMs (Multi level Marketing) can be one of the strangest and most intriguing phenomena in the business world. I never intended this video to be as long as it did. But the more research I did, the more I decided that I needed to cover.

I have yet to see MLMs addressed from a Christian perspective. The *real* fuel for why I did this deep dive has to do with my background in New Thought and what I started noticing hidden within MLMs that needs to be talked about. (And it's not New Age.) I'm calling this the "dirty secret of MLMs."

My goal is to approach this with fairness but also firmness. I think there’s generally a lot of (understandable) anger and bitterness with some of the anti-MLM crowd, and I wanted to approach this from a different angle. I made this video with no resentments but with a genuine interest in the topic, your stories, and a love for people and truth. I had a really wholesome experience doing this research.

Thank you all for your help with this. Link to watch is in the comments. 👇

Please bring praying for one of our favorite guests, Dr Ray Boeche 🙏🏻

“Here’s the latest.

I’ve been fighting mantle cell lymphoma since January, using oral chemotherapy. Today I start IV chemo for about 8 months. In 3 weeks I add a second oral chemo into the mix, and will continue both oral drugs indefinitely.

Doing relatively well, and am officially svelte! I’ve lost about 20% of my body weight since February.

I’m blessed that I’m in God’s hands, and he’s in control of the situation. Continuing to teach an in-depth Bible study every Sunday evening, and serving the best I can.

As things progress, I’ll keep you updated. Thanks in advance for your prayers! “

Them: "Don't preach anything against Mormonism or other religions so you remain inclusive to investigators."

God: "Hold fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict." Titus 1:9

Me: "I'm called to both exhort in sound doctrine and refute doctrinal contradiction. And I believe I ought to preach both with equal grace and ferocity."

Neo paganism is on the rise & incorporating itself into everything, especially the arts…

It’s important now, more than ever to understand the worldview, implications, and how to give a formulated response to it ..

So I have listened to this band a couple of times to see what the hype was about. They are indeed very musically talented and very good showman... but it certainly does give some creepy satanic cult vibes. They refer to every concert as "worship" and have a back story of their "characters" that is clearly very demonic.

The lead singer "Vessel" is said to have found an ancient diety named "Sleep" in a dream. Sleep promised him "glory and magnificence" if he were to follow him. The band members present themselves as servants of Sleep spreading his message through their music and stage presence.

It's a pretty detailed story for something that seems down right straight out of ancient paganism and how the very real but demonic "gods" would have revealed themselves to people and control them.

As Christianity fades in modern America and Europe, the ancient demonic gods are making a return in band new ways.
