Here is this week's diary, using the information already in the Parish and Community Magazine. Not much appears to be happening this week, but there may be events we don't know about! If anyone wants anything else publicised, perhaps something that wasn't organised when we published the magazine, please let us know via the magazine email address: [email protected]. We will then add it to the weekly diary - and post a flyer for it if you send that as a jpeg, please.

A message from K Kimber, Convener of the PCC Chairs’ Group, arrived on 22nd May, just too late for the May magazine, so we thought we’d post it here:

‘Progress with appointing a new Rector: On the 16th May 2024 there was a meeting of the members of the Parochial Church Councils, the bodies which oversee the running of each church, with the Rural Dean. She leads the many parishes in the Oswestry area. She explained how decisions about appointing a new Rector would be made and what the process would be.

This is not a decision but it is hoped that the Benefice of four parishes will continue. No re-organisation is anticipated.

The full summary of the meeting, issued to church members, can be found on the Border Benefice website: www.borderparishes.org.uk.’

LOST AND FOUND:
This is a new feature, and may of course not be included in every edition of the magazine. If you find something that you think someone may have lost, please let the Editor know via the usual channels and we will publish the information – a photo is useful if you can, too. This will go on the page and if the item is still not reunited with its owner, in the next magazine.

Your Editor found this rather lovely knitted hat up on Chapel Lane, Trefonen, beyond Vron Cottage, where a footpath goes off. It was very muddy, but I thought someone might be missing it. It is now at the village shop in Trefonen awaiting collection.
