The churches of Border Parishes benefice have received letters from the Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre thanking us for the toys and other gifts donated at November's Toy Service. Fleur, the Admin Manager, says 'Sadly, the demand for our services continues to grow each year. Thank you once again for your thoughtfulness and generosity'. Church services over Christmas: Midnight Communion (11.15pm Christmas Eve) at St Michael's Llanyblodwel; Family Christmas Worship (10.00 am Christmas Day) at All Saints Trefonen.
Don't forget to wrap up warm and come down to Chapel Green, Trefonen for carol singing at 6.30pm TONIGHT, Monday 22nd December, and Carols at the Bailey Head, organised by Churches Together, at 12 noon on Tuesday 23rd. Everyone welcome!

Coming up this weekend are our two carol services - the more informal one at All Saints Trefonen at 4.00pm on Saturday 20th December, the traditional one with choir items at St Michael's Llanyblodwel on Sunday 21st at 6.30pm. All are welcome.

Also, Churches Together in Oswestry District are singing carols on the Bailey Head on Tuesday 23rd at 12 noon - feel free to join in if you would like to.

St Michael's Llanyblodwel played host to nearly 50 children from Bryn Offa School on Thursday for the Advent Experience, and a good time was had by everyone. The stations are being kept in place for the 11.00am service tomorrow, if anyone would like to share the experience!

Don't forget the Trefonen Community Cafe Christmas stall in aid of Alzheimer's Society this Tuesday (2nd) 10-11.30am. Cafe Blodwel is also open on Wednesday 3rd from 10.30am to 12.30pm as usual. On Saturday DJ Tony Wright is holding a Singalong at Trefonen Village Hall from 6.45pm (see poster).

The December/January issue of the magazine is now in print - available from the usual places: Trefonen Village Stores, Trefonen and Llanyblodwel churches, the Barley Mow and Trefonen Village Hall. This is our first full colour edition - and we'd love some feedback as to how you like it! (Or, of course, if you don't ...)

Trefonen Community Cafe is hosting the Alzheimer's Christmas Stall, 10-11.30am on Tuesday 2nd December. Llanyblodwel's Christmas Fair, Hollyfest, is at the Llanyblodwel & Porthywaen Institute at 1pm on the 6th, so plenty of opportunity for Christmas gift buying!

Cafe Blodwel is open at St Michael's Llanyblodwel on Wednesday 3rd, 10.30am-12.30pm.

Lots on this week in Trefonen and Llanyblodwel! Tuesday 25th at the Community Cafe in Trefonen Village Hall there will be charity Christmas cards on sale, courtesy St Oswald's card sellers. On Friday 28th Bryn Offa are holding their Christmas Fair (see poster for details), and next Sunday (30th) there will be a Benefice Toy Service at Llanymynech (not Morton as stated in the print magazine for November).

On Thursday 20th November this month's Garden Club meeting will be held at Trefonen Village Hall at 7.30pm. There will be a review of the year, and a demonstration of Christmas wreath making. All welcome.

Events this week: Friday 14th November there is a Quiz Night at the Llanyblodwel Institute (see poster); Saturday 15th November Trefonen Film Club are showing 'The Penguin Lessons' at Trefonen Village Hall at 7.30pm.
