"Believe" - Sprite
A classic story of an underdog defeating the bully and getting the girl. A story a lot of us can relate too. Emotions of feeling defeated, fear of stepping outside your comfort zone, being bullied, determination, excitement, anxiety, overcoming it all for the prize at the end.
This film challenged me in a few ways. First, to put the story and the character first before anything else. Second, to not rely on slow motion, special effects or trendy transitions. Third, to always collaborate with others so that where you are weak, they are strong.
Big thanks to Seth Dunlap for dancing his butt off. Clayton Cassidy for being just as passionate about this project as I was and owning the lighting and problem solving. PJ Szabo for helping get locations, props, setting up the gym scene, and so much more. Risa Kostis for being a boss and getting all the outfits to fit the authenticity of the film. For helping with hair and make up and just killing it all around. Jason Williams for helping round up some extras and taking a million rad BTS photos. Mike Olbinski for letting me use his retro looking house. There are so many people who helped put this together just because they wanted too. It was so humbling and I was so honored.
