Jillian & Kat wrapped up Barlow Adventures training on Saturday with some waypoint hunting in the dunes! The skills we have learned and the progress we made with understanding how to read the terrain for driving and for navigating is amazing. We are so thankful to have experienced this!
➡️But, 2 days later we are still dumping the sand from our boots 🤣

Meet Buttercup! She is Kat’s Toyota 4Runner. Team Rock N Roll Rebelles will using Buttercup for training for the Rebelle Rally! She stopped by today to get some upgraded Fog Lights and go over a few things before the ladies Training session at in a few weeks!

Introducing our third teammate Stella 🥰
“Stella” is a 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro
Her name was inspired by her striking Solar Octane color and means “star”.
Stella spends a lot of her days shuffling around kids, and Apex Overland’s famous shop dog Theo. But she’s ready at a moments notice to get off the beaten path whether it be a trip down to the Uwharrie National forest to help demo the Offroad course at Overland Experts or camping with the family on the weekends or towing the Apex Overland booth trailer for overland events up and down the east coast.

Stella has a few upgrades:
• Radflo Shocks Suspension 2.5 shocks with Remote Reservoirs and Dobinsons Spring & Suspension USA LLC USA rear springs
•TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication Inc. Uniball Upper Control Arms
•BFGoodrich Tires 305/70/18 KO2s

Team Intro: Kathryn Cerruto (Navigator) is a mom, military spouse, and former teacher who is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up.

Kathryn (Kat) grew up in a military household and traveled the world as a child. She and her family spent weekends and vacations exploring, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, and camping out of their VW Bus. Kathryn always made mixtapes for her family that became the soundtracks of their adventures.

For 26 years, Kathryn supported her husband, Tony, as he served in the Army’s Ranger Regiment and then Special Forces (Green Berets). In their time between combat deployments, Kathryn, Tony, and their son Alec spent their time adventuring in the outdoors as much as possible. Mixtapes have now become playlists on streaming platforms, and Kathryn has one for almost any occasion.

Kathryn currently provides part-time administrative support for Overland Experts (OEX). This has allowed Kathryn to become immersed in all things off-road exploration. Look for her behind the wheel of either of her two 4Runners the next time you are in Uwharrie, North Carolina.

The Rebelle Rally will be an exciting and new challenge as Kathryn has no vehicular map and compass navigation background. Learning these new skills with her incredible partner, Jillian, will be quite an adventure for both ladies this year. It’s safe to say these two Rock N Roll Rebelles will always have just the right tunes for all their upcoming training shenanigans.

Team Intro: Jillian Schaible (Driver)

Jillian is a wife, a mother of 2, and a NC native with a professional background in Print Production and Project Management. Jillian’s true passion is rooted in being active outdoors. She feels most grounded among the trees, rocks, sand, mountains, and ocean.

Jillian is an introvert who was raised on classic rock, and loves metalcore music. She will always be an emo kid at heart, having spent most of her teenage years in grungy music venues, consuming local rock music.

After modifying their vehicles and spending years exploring and off-roading, Jillian and her husband Josh (and their little family), decided to start Apex Overland in 2015. Their mission has been and will always be to help others outfit their vehicles for overlanding and off-roading so they can enjoy an adventurous lifestyle, too.

In 2019, the Army unit Josh was assigned to was deployed to a combat zone for 400 days. This left Jillian to run and grow their little Offroad shop that had became their passion. Jillian was forced to step outside her comfort zone in ways she never had before. She fulfilled roles in business, parenting, and all aspects of their lives that had been shared with Josh. As hard as the deployment was, Jillian grew professionally and in her personal endeavors. She became obsessed with expanding her skills as a driver while helping other women get out of their comfort zones, and enjoy time behind the wheel off-road, too!
