A realstic day in the life living full time on a narrowboat. It got to - 5 last night! We woke up very cold, but Julian got to work lighting the fire and getting us a nice toasty. We have had such a busy week the boat is not looking her best! So today started with a good old deep clean of the boat.In the afternoon, we had our lovely friend Amy, who designed websites, over! It's time to give you guys a flood update.It's definitely gone down a lot! This video was filmed on Tuesday the 9th of January 2023 and obviously today being the 13th it is completely off the footpath now.It's been a crazy experience to be a part of but knowing that we are safe and it's been quite cool learning to cope living off grid and dealing with the water levels rising.We have spent a lot of this week at home inside more because we wanted to be at home to keep an eye on the boat. Spend the day with us living full time on a 64ft narrowboat. We started the day off slow with a nice hot shower and doing the morning boat life chores, before we decided to take the girls out on a nice long dog walk. As the weather has gone back to normal now, and the floods have gone down, we decided to go out and see the damage that the floods had left behind. We popped into a local pub near us which we hadn't been to before and had a coffee and then did a bit of charity shopping. Once returning back home we did a little bit of work before we had a movie night on the boat. We are using our Bluetti EB70 to power our TV. You wouldn't believe that it only uses 30W of power. This means we can watch the TV for hours on end and not need to worry about over using power. Part 2 | #Ad Time to install the flooring in our 64-foot narrow boat! I started by making the bed while Julian checked the old flooring for dampness. We found some, mostly from condensation. Using our wet vac, we cleared it out and sealed the old flooring before laying the new one. Our new Dyson portable Hoover has been a game-changer.Yoga in the bathroom for the last time! We invested in a dehumidifier, powered by the Bluetti EB3A. After picking up a new printer, I continued working while Julian worked on the flooring. Despite his recent operation, he did an amazing job laying the underlay and flooring in two days. We chose a dark chocolate engineered Oakwood flooring, which we've had stored in the boat for six months. Excited to clear some space and hear your thoughts on the flooring. We have done well for a time with a full ripe out and a rebuild. We have been most excited about getting our new sofa from Nabru Sofas.
