📢NEW EPISODE! We're covering The Scariest Film Ever Made. Join us for Part One of our excavation of William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist as we read through the first part of the novel.

Chris and Tara bond over the horrors of Catholic education, and Chris talks us through his childhood trauma of watching 'The Fear of God' documentary by the fantastic before seeing the actual film - while growing up in a town where the Exorcist seemed inescapable.

We spent so long exploring the differences between Bram Stoker's Dracula and its many movie adaptations that Chris penned an article about it for Spooky Isles! Check it out below! ⚰️🦇

Bram Stoker's Dracula has inspired countless adaptations, often adding misconceptions not found in the original novel, from sunlight sensitivity to the iconic cape. CHRIS NEWTON, of the From The Page To Screen Podcast reveals the truth behind these Dracula myths

This week, we're talking to renowned horror actor James Swanton about 'Frankenstein's Creature', his one man stage show which he adapted for screen in 2018. James has been described by Kim Newman as a 'horror star of the future'. His many credits include roles in Host, Dashcam, and most recently as the Mummy in Lot 249.

"I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine" ⚡

When we consider how the Creature must look, it's difficult to visualise it - Mary Shelley only gives glimpses of something that must be so unearthly, so hideous - that we can only barely start to imagine it.

But there is a beauty to the Creature that is there if you know where to look. Chris and Tara discuss this beautiful and vulnerable artwork by on Episode 3 of our deep dive into Frankenstein.

We believe it is the closest, most perfect visual representation of the Creature. Do check out Sam's incredible dark art on his website or here on Facebook.

Dracula may live in Transylvania, but let's not forget that he was born in Ireland! From Page to Scream are celebrating Bram Stoker and his incalculable contribution to the horror genre this St Patrick's Day 🇮🇪

In our recent interview with Dacre C Stoker we discussed Bram's formative years in Clontarf, Dublin and the huge influence that Irish folklore and mythology had on Dracula.

📢 NEW EPISODE!!

You have heard this strange and terrific story; and do you not feel your blood congeal with horror, like that which even now curdles ours?

Join us as we read through the final third of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, in which Victor prepares to create a female creature, and Chris argues that Universal's Bride of Frankenstein is actually a more faithful adaptation of Shelley's story than the original 1931 movie.

It's and what better way to celebrate than talking about Mary Shelley's legacy with the wonderful !

Jess joined Chris and Tara for a very special discussion on mad scientists and misunderstood monsters in the works of Tim Burton! We talked about the 'Frankenstein Myth' in popular culture - specifically in relation to Edward Scissorhands!

Jess is a YouTuber who primarily talks about the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (you can check out her LOTR chat with Chris on his podcast!), but she also explores the art of storytelling in general.

Be sure to check out her YouTube channel, which features an epic analytical deep dive into Frankenstein, and a wonderful video on The History of Science Fiction! 🧪👩🏻‍🔬

IT'S ALIIIIVEEE!!!! Join us as we embark upon a journey to the icy climes of a region of beauty and delight where the sun is forever visible - despite all warnings to the contrary, and terrifying glimpses of an apparition of gigantic stature on the ice...

In the first part of our discussion on Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley, we discuss monsters, mad scientists, and something at work in our souls which we do not understand as we unpick the (many!) differences between the 1931 Universal movie directed by James Whale starring Boris Karloff and Shelley's original novel.
