The PDGA board elections are upon us. I encourage you to vote, and I encourage you to vote for Laura Nagtegaal and Phillip Mills.

I believe that trans women following the PDGA guidelines are right where they belong in the female protected divisions. If you want to know more about those guidelines, you can listen to this podcast we did a while ago.

I've wrestled with the sanctioned disc golf divisions over the years, but I've really come to love them. It makes for so many options, especially for women, and there's always a next level if you want it. All the way up to Mixed Professional Open.

It also means folks will ALWAYS find a reason to claim something isn't fair. I mean, raise your hand if you've been called a bagger? It can get pretty ridiculous. Everyone is playing by the same rules when it comes to what divisions you have to chose from.

What a fantastic and exciting season of professional women's disc golf we're having this year! It's one of the most competitive seasons I've seen since I've started paying attention in 2016. I don't think anything is broken or "unfair". I see so many positives all around.

TL;DR: More podcasts? Probably not but never say never.

The first time I sat down to write this, I found out my cousin died from covid and processing my thoughts was once again delayed. I share that because there’s a certain profound unity in the global shared experience of the last 2 years. Disruption and unpredictability in the midst of all the regular joys and pains of life.

I love disc golf and I miss it, but as we are hopefully, finally transitioning into a post-pandemic world, I, like I’m sure many of you, am taking time to access what energy I have and how I want to spend that energy.

I’ve thought about handing the keys to the podcast to another interested party, and that’s still a possibility, but I haven’t had the time and energy to really think that through. There are some fun videos that I still really want to make with my friends.

But I know for certain, my top priority is playing the sport again and hanging out with my friends. That comes first and then we’ll see what happens next.

What I also know for certain, is there are loads of opportunities for women to be involved in disc golf media. The sport is exploding in lots of ways, but the world is still small. My hope is to see more women producing, holding video cameras, with a mic, etc. And I want to help however I can. I was so heartened to watch the first all female commentated NBA game this week with my favorite sports commentator Doris Burke. Doris is simply my favorite commentator period. I hope that’s how this whole sports media thing continues to evolve. Into something where we just enjoy and rejoice in folks being awesome without the binary comparisons.

That’s all I have to say for now. I hope to see you on the course and please reach out if you are wanting to start a disc golf media project or looking for a way in. I’ll always do all I can to help anyone get started with this stuff. Love you all and thank you so much for listening over the years.
