Make It Mesquite is a locally produced magazine-style website and page promoting the city of Mesquite and the folks who call this Dallas suburb of 145,000-plus residents home.
The philosophy behind Make It Mesquite is to share positive news about our community without the drama you might find elsewhere on social media. There is not a better source for what’s happening in Mesquite.
The website is home to feature stories on the people who make Mesquite a better place with the page serving as an information kiosk for community news and events with an audience of more than 10,000 (and growing) fans. In 2019, the page averaged a monthly reach of 70,000-plus people with a high-water total of 131,000 in October leading up to the municipal election.
Seasoned journalist Kent Miller operates Make It Mesquite. A homegrown native and product of Mesquite ISD, Miller was an undergraduate and graduate student at the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas and served as a graduate teaching fellow while pursuing his master’s degree.
