🚨Central Kitsap is headed to the Tacoma Dome!!! The Cougars beat Shorecrest 75-65 to move on to the top eight in state and will play at 9 am Wednesday in the Hardwood Classic versus Marysville-Pilchuk

Central Kitsap held a 15-12 lead over Shorecrest after the first period and has a 32-24 advantage at halftime thanks to a 9-3 run to end the half

🚨STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ALERT 🚨 Olympic’s Dietrich Meyer wins his third 50-yard freestyle in 20.93 seconds at the 2A state boys swimming meet at KCAC in Federal Way this afternoon. Twin brother Rainer Meyer finished second in 21.69.

Congratulations to Klahowya girls on their 50-42 win over Seattle Christian as the Eagles won their first district game in program history tonight. Big performances by Ella Koebelin, Sarah Greene, Malie Lueck et al, weathered the storm with some great defense. Klahowya will play Saturday for the second seed to regionals vs loser of Cascade Christian and Annie Wright

Kingston beat Olympic 77-59 in a key Olympic League girls basketball contest Thursday. Both teams are keeping the postseason in their sights ‬but it’s getting closer to must-win games ‪ Video: Elle Brockman hits a short jumper for Kingston in the first half ‬

Another great two-day HammerHead wrestling tournament at the pavilion. Kitsap had a couple champions and I talked to them about their seasons and what it meant to win on a bittersweet weekend without CK coach Mike Harter. I’ll have a video and story posted on the website Sunday

I headed up to Poulsbo tonight to check out North Kitsap girls versus Annie Wright and it was a heckuva good game. Annie Wright won 77-72. North was down quite a bit but came back to take the lead late only to have the Gators pull away at the end. I’ll have a story and photos on the website tomorrow plus a roundup of tonight’s other games

🚨STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ALERT 🚨 Bainbridge’s 200 free relay wins in 1:37.08

I checked out a couple football games tonight. Klahowya hosted Port Townsend and lead 27-0 at halftime thanks to three touchdowns by Hunter Wallis. At Bremerton, Olympic won 49-14 and holds the No. 3 seed for now. Cameron Bailey finished with four TDs. I’ll have a roundup n my website with a look at how things stand in terms of playoffs

I went to Klahowya to cover the Eagles volleyball tonight, and it’s a cell phone dead zone for me so no updates. But! Klahowya did beat Port Angeles in what was a 3-set thriller. I’ll have a story and photos on my website tomorrow
