Focus Media Journal 2010-2011 UCSB’s Focus Media Journal is an annual scholarly journal issued every spring quarter. Focus is currently seeking student submissions.

As a literary publication for the Film and Media Studies Department, the journal's goal is to engage students from all disciplines that focus on media forms. Students from all majors are encouraged to submit their academic and creative essays, articles, and any other written material, even a paper for a class. This year's theme is "In Media Res," which means "in the middle of things" or "mid-poin

t” and we are looking for topics that deal with change, conflict, and current issues in history. This theme is meant to be broad so that it can be extended to many different topics and be open to any one. All entries must be submitted by email to [email protected] with your name, class standing, major, e-mail address and phone number and hard copies can be placed in a Focus Submissions Box in the Film & Media Studies office on the second floor of the SSMS building by the deadline, FRIDAY, APRIL 8TH or any time before that deadline, so hurry because submissions are coming in fast!
