Massachusetts Independent Film Festival The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival (MassIFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by filmmakers, film writers, and film lovers.

The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are dedicated to showcasing a wide variety of films from all genres. Everything from dramas, art house fare, to horror and thrillers that some festivals unfairly ignore are welcome here. Every year we look to shine the spotlight on New England filmmakers, but we're also on the lookout for independent voices all

over the country and world. We give real independent filmmakers a chance to screen their work, and interact with a broad audience.

Going to bed now with only $805 to go to meet the goal of the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. Annual Appeal! That is incredible.

We just had a fun screening at starlite followed up with some food from Crown Fried Chicken- Southbridge and interesting conversation. Discussing the meaning of indie cult films and art.

Films like the The Drummond Will should be seen and achieve cult status. And...

And all of this because of your generous donations. Please give now and help us reach our goal and continue to do our work and honoring the memory of Shawna.

We are still only $237 short of hitting the 3/4 mark of the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.'s Annual Appeal.

It seems to be a struggle getting to this mark, so we are now starting to have the conversations about what to do if we don't hit our goal of $8000.

We've reached $8000 the last two years enabling us to expand our programming. And we were continuing to look to expand into other areas.

That won't happen. Cuts to some of the existing programs will happen. This is the reality now. Without your help.

Please donate today and help us honor the memory of Shawna with our work at the Shawna Foundation.

Thank you.

Thanks to Laura Graham & Colin J Graham of COViRO Productions we are now at $5130 with only $2870 to go in the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.'s Annual Appeal.

If any of you have attended either Massachusetts Independent Film Festival of the Shawna Shea Film Festival in the last few years you would have seen COViRO as our top sponsor. And they have been for years.

I'm very grateful to them for their support and mostly friendship throughout the years. They truly are people who give me hope and faith in humanity.

DM if anyone is interested in becoming a sponsor.

Or you can still donate directly to our Appeal and help us end this fundraiser soon so we can get back to focusing on our work to honor Shawna.

Like tonight's Library Poetry Tour with Art DuBois at the Milford Town Library sponsored in part by the Milford Cultural Council, Uxbridge, MA Cultural Council and the Mass Cultural Council. The event is free and starts at 7:00PM.

Please give today.

Because of our relationship with BayView Entertainment, another benefit the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. film festivals, Shawna Shea Film Festival, Massachusetts Independent Film Festival,& the Scandriglia Film Festival is that we were able to help get distribution for some of the features we have screened like:
“The Battle of Rome 1849” by Luigi Cozzi
"Delusion” by Chris Di Nunzio
“Do It Man: The Story of The Celebrity Club” by Tom Shaker
“Ice Patrol” by Adam Newman

All because of your support we are able to help true indie filmmakers get their work to a wider audience.

Please give today so we can continue this work in Shawna’s name.

Here we are on a gloomy Sunday morning (at least here) and we are only $400 shy of hitting 50% of our Annual Appeal for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.

I'm guessing by now these posts are becoming white noise and people are already scrolling by. I probably would.

But we really need your help. All of the money donated goes directly into our programs. And to maintain our work we need to hit our goal.

Pretend it is a second passing of the plate at church. And donate today.

16/08/2024

We finally hit the $3000 mark on our annual appeal for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.. Our goal is $8000, which is what we had raised in the previous two years, allowing us to add to our programs. All because of your generosity. To maintain our current programming we need to hit that mark.

Like most arts nonprofits, the bulk of the money comes from you. We do get some grants now and very little corporate sponsorship. But some.

We are hoping your generosity will help us again honor Shawna with all of our programs. Two of them will be happening in the next two weeks.

The Library Poetry Tour with Art DuBois reading next Wednesday and Thursday. For Free. And the poets get paid.

UnderGround Wednesday on the last Wednesday of the month at starlite screening the silent classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari with live music performed by Alec K. Redfearn. Which is one of our Silent Movie Concerts. For Free. And the band gets paid.

We gratefully get some financial support for these programs from the Milford Cultural Council, Uxbridge, MA Cultural Council, Southbridge Cultural Council and the Mass Cultural Council.

The rest of the money to run these programs comes from you. Which we are very grateful for because to us it is personal, because it is about honoring Shawna and her memory.

We are hopeful you'll help us hit our goal so we can continue.

So let's see who can help us reach the $4000 half way mark?

We start the day at $2255 towards our goal for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. Annual Appeal. We have several ways to donate, via our Event which I invited quite a few folks. Or through Fundraisers started by Anna Chinappi and Anthony Landry.

I will be inviting friends via Anna's fundraising page as well thought out the next few days.

And you donate directly through the link below.

Because of the FB glitch we are a little behind where we were last year at this point so we have some catching up to do!

Please do what you can today to help us reach our goal and continue our work in honoring Shawna. Thank you.

More Thanks for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. Annual Appeal. We did break the 25% mark this evening and we know have $2180 in total. It was the donation from Amber Joers that put us over that mark!

Besides the event page we have for the Appeal both Anna Chinappi and Anthony Landry have fundraisers on their pages. A tremendous help!

So we are starting to roll towards our goal of $8000. Regardless of FB glitches.

Let's see who can put us over the $3000 mark.

We are working with FB on the fundraising glitch. For some reason we can't start a fundraising page. And time is limited on events... Perfect time to do our Annual Appeal for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.

Hey Eric Linter is Mercury Retrograde or something?

Even with all of the glitches we had an amazing Day One with over $1000 donated towards our modest goal of $8000. Thanks to all who have donated!

So while we are working on the glitch, here is your way to donated directly now. Which is the point anyway.

Final Note of Thanks on The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival!

I want to thank the people who helped make it possible this year. The volunteers who helped set up, take down and sat at the door Pam Ela, Jason Porter and Andrew Chinappi.

Gabrielle Rosson who did an amazing job stepping in and hosting for our special screening at Clark University.

Diana Porter who was ready in the wings in case we needed anything.

Patrick Bracken, one of the two, who without we wouldn't have a film festival. He is invaluable to the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. I can't thank him enough as he moves more and more into a leadership role as I work on producing the Creating Dangerously Podcast, the Patreon Page, The Library Poetry Tour, UnderGround Wednesday, the Patreon Page...

And last but not least Anna Chinappi, the other person who without there wouldn't be a film festival. Or even a Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.. Her behind the scenes work is truly what keeps this going, often unseen. But that's why things magically seen to work so well.

Words cannot express my gratitude.

The Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc.'s Massachusetts Independent Film Festival is in the books. Because we have a very literate audience!

Thanks to all who submitted and attended. There are a lot of film festivals to choose from. Too many, frankly. The fact that you chose us to submit to is something we never take for granted. We truly appreciate it.

Like most festivals we give out awards at the end. It's a fun time of celebration, networking a pizza. But as we know art is subjective. So everyone is actually a winner, as trite as that sounds. But it is true simply because they are brave enough to create.

That said...

and A Woman, a Priest, and a Comedian by Kim Christel.

Then be prepared for Scary Saturday with or very popular Block of Horror Shorts at 8:00PM. If it is too scary for you, no fear, the bar will be open.
