I simply can not find the motivation to continue developing Extortius II. I was on such a roll, and I just hit this wall where I can't push forward. I have the complete plan in my head, and the knowledge to see it through, but I've just lost the flame. I don't know man. Maybe one day.

For anyone who checked out my game Extortius: Become A Villain when I first released it early April, I apologize for the bugs and instability it may have had at that time. Developing a game independently is a difficult process, especially without play testers. I want to thank all who tried it out at that time for helping me get it to the stable spot it's in now. With that said, if you haven't tried it since then, I really hope you give it another shot, now that the bugs have been thoroughly ironed out, new features added, and the character graphics overhauled. It would mean a lot to me, and help keep me motivated while I'm hard at work on the sequel.

Few small bug fixes in Extortius: Become A Villain.

Also, the game is no longer on Itch, due to an error within the website itself. No clue why that's happening, but the game remains available on Gamejolt and Newgrounds.

Extortius has seen a big update.

What's changed?:

Repolished Title Screen

Battles now start at "Fight or Escape" rather than attack select screen.

Event loading in troubled areas has been fixed. No more disappearing images during cutscenes.

Game crashing and error screens during battle start up has seemingly been eliminated. Data leak has hopefully been resolved.

Resolution slightly increased, giving wider range of vision on the map for the player, and better fit in browser windows.

White lines in the street indicate where the player can go to reach the next area.

Revamped Extortius sprite. Slightly taller and better animated while walking. Now with cargo shorts, rather than blue shorts, keeping consistency with the comics and ending scene.

Library, Bank and Car Dealership now have their name in large letters on the front.

A few new inconsequential NPCs added to world.

Various graphical and battle tweaks and oversight fixes.

AUTOSAVE FUNCTION ADDED.

Here's to hoping this is the last update it will ever need. 👍

Rolling out what will hopefully be the last bug fixes for Extortius: Become A Villain.

One was a missing background during a boss battle, and the other that stopped the ability to progress early on in New Game+.

Rolling out an update to Extortius on Gamejolt. Mostly bug fixes, small tweaks to combat and a new secret has been added!

I appreciate everyone's patience since the initial release. There were a lot of new issues which arose once I began trying to optimize the game to run on a browser. Many I failed to catch without doing a full play through. I will continue to look for issues and fix them accordingly.

Thanks for the positive reception everyone, and if you haven't checked it out yet, this is the most up-to-date build so far!

Inspired by Earthbound and early flash role playing games, with a hint of Venture Bros. Extortius is a comical world filled with monsters, clowns, laser bears, super heroes and villains, clocking in at around 5-6 hours of gameplay.
Featuring hand drawn artwork and original music by Zach Morrison.

Fixed some bugs in the game. Hopefully that's the last of anything major. Please send me any screenshots of error messages you may receive. Be sure to save your game often just in case.

I hit a snag in developing my game for a few days, but things are back on track now, and it should still be ready for official release by April 1st.

I made a lot of progress last night optimizing the game to run in HTML5 on browsers and mobile. If all goes well when I'm done and I can get through an entire playthrough without issues, it may become the main build of the game.

I ended up with a lot more work after believing the game to be finished, but I think it will all be worth it and the over all quality of the game will be much better.
