HAPPY FRIDAY! Who’s been to this arch? 👀
Thanks @canoewithaview for sharing the details about this spot in a post recently.. I’ve had it on my list for a while but haven’t been yet and it was perfect for a quick run this morning!
Despite it being soooo windy I was blowing away and couldn’t even peek through the arch without my hat gusting off… it was so cool to get to this hidden little arch on the side of the hills.
📍Industrial Arch
Distance: 2.13 miles RT
Elevation: 568 ft gain
Difficulty: easy-moderate
Time: 35 minutes
Conditions: no mud! narrow trail once you get around to the west-facing side of the mountain. Veer right when you see the towers and hit the hills (use a map!). Watch for bikers. I just kept going up past the arch to get to whatever this mini peak is called (Sand monument?) and connect back down. Sooooo windy! Probably the windiest spot to be at today 😅 A few flowers are peeking out!
Traffic: low
Rating: ⭐️ (will come back without the wind and give a higher rating lol)
Located in North SLC/Bountiful above the fart factories and sand mines (if ya know ya know)

friday morning trail vlog!
I wanted a good workout and a very straightforward trail! I have hiked this maybe once or twice a year for a while, but I realize it’s closer than I thought and a good one to fall back on when I can’t decide on a trail. (Malans and Adams are my go-to choices)
One of these days I will get to the top in an hour or maybe even 50 mins-that’s my current goal… Running down is the easy part 😆 Some of y’all are already that wicked fast or that in shape so thanks for being my inspo 🙏🏼
4.6 miles
2,071 ft gain
1 hr 51 mins
spikes needed towards the end of the creek and all the way up
March is almost over but I visited this trail in March 2023 after the ultimate snowy winter and it was magical! ❄️
Zion National Park is full of so much beauty and unique trails. This is one of the more popular ones to hike, but in the winter there weren’t too many people. This trail winds you through this canyon to many different pools of water with some shade. In the hotter months these pools get very low, but if you go in winter you’ll be able to cross lots of water and see it flowing!
The conditions are not as snowy and wet right now as they were around this time last year, but I didn’t start making reels until this past fall so I have a lot of videos to catch up on!!
Who has done this trail in a different season?
Here’s the details:
Distance: 3.7 miles RT
Elevation: 774 ft
Time: 2 hrs 16 mins
Difficulty: easy-moderate
Traffic: high
Conditions: a mix of mud, packed snow, slick snow, and asphalt. Mostly snow and some areas slipperier than others. Doable without spikes but WITH good boots. Not very technical; stairs, a river crossing, and some rock maneuvers.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is an upper pool and lower pools. Sadly when we went the lower pools trail where you could walk behind the falls was closed to to snow/ice/rockfall damage so we didn’t get to see it from that view.
Definitely a great trail to save for a quick trip to Zion as it’s one of the first trails from the entrance!

This is one of my FAVORITE parts about exploring the mountains 💚🐾
Seeing wildlife in their habitat is so exciting & special! Anytime I’m out on a trail I hope I’ll get to see wild animals (some more than others of course🐈 🐻!) and when I do get to see some it makes the whole adventure that much better.
All of these clips are from the beautiful mountains along the Wasatch except for the grizzly bears on the train tracks which we saw last fall in Alaska.🐻
I’ve also see coyotes, a porcupine, bunnies, many birds, bighorn sheep, elk, + more but haven’t caught them on camera YET! I always try to document my wildlife findings, tracks included if you’ve seen my instagram story during snowy months. So much fun 💗
Remember if you explore these wild areas that you are in their home. Don’t ever get close, try not to veer off trail, and know your safety measures for encounters that are a bit more worrisome!!
