After 39 years as a basketball coach and teacher, we can confirm that United Boys Basketball coach Archie Ramos is retiring. Ramos got his start at Nixon as an assistant coach before taking over in 1991 as the head man and then made the move to United in 2007. From us at KGNS Sports, we hope coach enjoys retirement and more time around his family to the fullest!

A shout out to the #CigarroaToros Emily Loredo, representing the Gateway City as the only one to qualify for state in a race. She battled tonight in the 200 meters as a junior!

It's an extra inning affair tonight, but in the end it's the #UnitedLonghorns coming up big in the 8th inning for a 6-2 win over the #NixonMustangs. United stays in the hunt for a district title, while Nixon will be the 4th seed from District 30-6A into the playoffs.

Despite a disappointing finish to the district meet, the #AlexanderBulldogs are looking ahead to the Area Meet later this week in San Antonio!

The #NixonMustangs get great pitching and defense early on, and then a trio of runs in the 4th inning, as they hold off Del Rio 3-2 in a big district win.
