I've been professionally recording metal since 1996 when Vile vocalist Juan Urteaga and I built Trident Studios in Concord, CA. Since then I branched off into mastering and started Imperial Mastering in 2001. Over the years I have mastered hundreds of metal albums for bands all over the world and produced a number of important releases, including all of the Vile albums. Now in 2012, I am returning
to regular recording and production work and have founded Shadowork Recording. My goal is to bring high quality productions to bands at reasonable prices through a number of methods. I am available for ground up productions, mixing and mastering, recording abroad or consultations. There are few engineers who really know metal and I realize how important it is to work with an engineer who specializes in the sounds that apply to metal genres. Bands that can't travel to California to work with me can still do so by recording locally and having me mix and master. Rates for recording and mixing are between 20 and 25 per hour.
