Caldera Culture Review Caldera Culture is an art forum, discussing art that intersects with community, spirituality and activism in small and unusual artistic communities.

Caldera Culture Review is a response to the current state of arts journalism, which we will attempt to express as often as possible as a set of values, rather than grievances: the arts are navigational tools for life; local stories are national, as in “characteristic of people of the nation”; readers deserve to see their beliefs and values reflected in the news; real work is not performed at a job

; and the truth is not limited to that which can be proven. CCR features essays on arts and culture, as well as fiction, poetry and travel narratives. On a philosophical level, CCR looks for the intersections between art, community, metaphysics/spirituality and activism, and then intervenes. We operate on a local level, as well, focusing on cities, such as Austin, Boise, Salt Lake City and San Diego, where art movements have potential for direct impact on their communities.
