Step Off the Stage
Be the Observer

In my last letter, I mentioned that on a spiritual level, we are like Neo in The Matrix. We're infinite spiritual beings inhabiting a finite human vessel. We are being presented a play and are being emotionally manipulated to assist the programmers in bringing about their desired outcome. They use deception, fear, coercion, and emotional manipulation to keep us under their control.

All of us are being bombarded with psychological warfare and mind control tactics that have been tested and proven since the advent of Freudian psychology. Weaponized psychology has been perfected and in use since the 60's at least (Ref: Project Mockingbird, CHAOS - Tom O'Neil).

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6:12

Here's how they do it:
Get the people to adopt a victim mindset. Hurt them or make them hurt by keeping them focused on past hurts.
Convince them that they will forever be helpless victims.
Make them feel angry about it. Encourage their anger; make them feel justified and powerful in their rage.
Ignore calls for healing and personal responsibility for emotional management. Instead, coax the helplessness along using compassionate language so they think you are on their side.
Keep up the agitation until victims become enraged enough to tip into insanity.
When they act out, blame it on your enemy.
Neo fought tirelessly against the agents who would pop up whenever he did something that exposed him as awake to the system, the game, the matrix. The most dangerous agents were the ones who could morph civilians into one of them; the ‘Smiths’. However, once Neo failed/died, his awareness opened and he realized that his battle wasn't with the agents. His battle was with the perspective that the agents were his enemy. This detachment from appearances/emotionality/victimhood magnified his power.

When Neo said, “No. “ to the game, he essentially stepped off the stage by overcoming his fear and mastering his emotions. He then became the Master of his experience. From that point on, Neo knew that everything presented by the matrix was designed as a control mechanism. He had become conscious of his unification with the matrix and of his creative power; and, his power sent the agents running in fear.

Exit, Stage Right
In the wake of Charlie Kirk's death, many are stepping away from the stories of the Left. They are changing perspective from victim to Victor. Being conscious of our emotionality, judgments, perceptions and fears gives us the power to see more objectively, and the opportunity to step off the stage.

The church I attend missed an opportunity today.

This was the first Sunday service after the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk. People who opposed or felt attacked by his message had celebrated, danced, and mocked his death with jubilance. Some were indifferent. Still others made value comparisons meant to minimize the impact of this event. It was a painful illustration of the deep divide that mankind has allowed itself to participate in. And it was not addressed in service.

There was no acknowledgment of the global impact this event had. There was no mention of the darkness of political violence. There was no prayer for the people who may be hurting; no prayer for the people who expressed their joy at this violent death. Why?

I didn’t follow Charlie very closely, though I have seen clips of some of his debates. I saw him be respectful and patient with his opponents. I saw them debate respectfully, consider his positions, thank him for his discourse, argue loudly and aggressively, ridicule him, call him names, and curse him. For the most part, he sat calmly while they let their emotions take them to places of hate and anger. When one cannot respond to a fact that they don’t want to acknowledge, they resort to anger and ridicule – that’s what the ego does to protect itself.

When we align our identity with something that is spiritually inconsequential to who we are at the core, (spiritual beings created in God’s image), things like physical traits, sexuality, or even political views become our god, our religion. We aren't allowed to question it because if it were proven wrong the identity would die. We've become so invested in being right because we have attached our being to those things. Then, when an alternate or opposing idea is presented, we feel threatened, fearful, attacked.

The real issue is a deep discomfort or even hatred of self – a spiritual crisis. Rather than face this feeling, examine it and heal it, the person seeks an alternate identity because they can’t face what they are feeling. It’s too painful to look into a mirror without donning a disguise.
Whether the mask that gets donned is aligned with a physical attribute, or any number of chosen identity, a mask remains a mask, covering the True identity that inherits the physical vessel in the first place. It is the Thing that gives us life; the thing that is aware of itself and exclaims, “I Am.” It is our most authentic Self.

As we navigate the world of duality, we get programmed with layers if false identity; shields that we adopt to protect ourselves from hurt feelings; feelings of exposure; feelings of unsureness, not-enough-ness, aloneness. We will fight to the death to ensure that the mask we wear is defended and validated, no matter the cost to the outside world. Anyone who disagrees with our adopted mask becomes a threat because we are so identified with it that we’ve forgotten that we are only temporarily inhabiting a sacred vessel. We fail to realize that while there are indeed physical dangers, there is also, indeed, a part of us that is Neo inside the Matrix.

We are the avatar that the Spirit – a fractal of the Divine – inhabits and operates. We are the Spirit, not the mask.
I understood where Charlie was coming from. It’s a position that one can only understand if one has had an experience of God’s healing energies. There is that ‘Peace that surpasses all understanding.’ It heals the things that make us feel inadequate; it removes our need for the mask and gives us freedom to love ourselves as we are. I believe Charlie was trying to say that we are so magnificent as humans, that we don’t need all of these masks; all we need is to have the courage to be our best selves and strive for our dreams.
What we are missing is that what lies BEHIND the self we see in the mirror is the Self with a capital ‘S’. That discomfort we feel may in fact, be the Spirit begging us to remove the mask and give it its full expression. It takes courage to do that because we must look at the things that made us put on the mask in the first place: our traumas, and insecurities. Heal them, and the Spiritual Self awakens.
The Spiritual Self that steps forward with meditation, prayer, forgiveness, and healing is where our true power and beauty live.

It is not my intent to argue anyone into submission. It is my right to express what God has given me; to humbly ask consideration of these things: Life is the sacred expression of Divine Action. If we all are results of the first creative expression of the Divine, then do we not all have a right to Life? If expression is a right of Life, then have we not all a right to our expression, whether it is agreed upon or not? These are principles that led to our First Amendment – the Right to Life and Freedom of Expression. When we turn a blind eye to that, we are in grave danger as a people.
