Quite a day to remember! @johnsnyder38 With the truttasaurus release! š£š¦š¦. Congrats again on your PB dad!
Releasing the beast! Blessed to live in the state of PA! Landed this big boy about a month back, but forgot to show the release! Hahaha, absolute stud covering new water for the first time! Took an olive bugger, had to make a really tuff bow and arrow cast under a tree, then 3 hard strips later, BOOM! š¤£ Almost took the rod out of my hands!

Did something a little different today, only one good bass on the day on a big black silk kitty, but at least didnāt get skunked! Either way fun day on the water, just wish the fish would have been more cooperative and willing to chase today. Blue bird skies did not help at all! š¤£šÆ

Ice cold conditions today, but just couldnāt hold myself back and had to get out! š¤£ Luckily it paid off with this gem of a wild boi! Covered lots of water and knew my chances of landing a trout were slim, but the hard work paid off and felt so rewarding hooking into something that wasnāt a rock on the bottom of the stream! Micro streamer getting the job done once again! Was throwing giant silk kitties the majority of the day, but then figured these fish are ice cold, water clarity was crystal clear, and they may not be looking to chase something big. Sized down to a micro, and BOOM! Not a monster by any means, but a sizable wild brown neither the less. Fun day today, and wouldnāt have wanted to spend it anywhere else! š£š¦

Fun outing to end 2021! Bunch of gorgeous a brookies along with a few nice bows to top the day off. Had to work hard for em today, but eventually bite really turned on and they were all over the micro streamer once again! Look forward to 2022, and good luck out there on the water! š

Decent one from a few outings ago, been a fun winter season so far! So glad the college semester is wrapped up, now back to the fishing grind! Hopefully can get a video up sooner or later, may try and edit a video this weekend. Just hard to make time for editing since as of currently trying to fish and explore as much as I can before next semester starts. Happy holidays and keep them lines tight! š¤š£š¦

Small Stream Fly Fishing For Wild Brown Trout! Local Tailwater Produces Bigtime! (PA Trout Fishing)
New video is up on my Youtube channel!

In todays video, I've got some spectacular footage from this past summer doing some fly fishing on my local tailwater. This stream produces some beautiful wild brown trout, and last summer was by far my best year on this specific stream. Even though this past summer many streams in PA got extremely low due to the lack of rain, the flows as well as the water temperatures ( consistently 55 to 60 degrees F ) on this small tailrace had these fish on the bite and actively feeding. Glad to have such a unique wild trout fishery close to home, I just wish there were a few more wild trout streams like this one around my area. I tend to travel quite a bit to find wild trout water, but it's always fun visiting my local stream every once in a while!
Tight lines, and hope you enjoy this nice little fly fishing outing! : )
Stocking: The PA Wild Troutās Worst Enemy ( Impacts of Stocking Over Nursery Streams )
New video is up on my Youtube channel! : )

In todays short video, to replace the PA Wild Trout Chronicles for this week, I'll be covering a topic that Eric Richard, Russ Colins, as well as I believe is the biggest threat to our wild and native trout populations, which is stocking over nursery streams where migratory wild brown trout run up to spawn as well as strong native brook trout populations are present.
Stocking over these tributaries has resulted in stunting, meaning when trout are stocked over an already established wild trout population, the amount of food and shelter available due to the un-natural population density created causes wild trout to mature at a smaller size and therefore adapt to have a smaller requirement which leads to the establishment of resident brown trout.
Resident browns which are introduced as offspring by stocked brown trout (most of the time), are genetically predisposed to not move like migratory brown trout since the species is so adaptable, and when they're introduced to an environment where good living conditions exist, due to their lack of movement have completely taken over a good amount of brook trout streams across the state where they've been introduced.
Tight lines, and enjoy the video!
The PA Wild Trout Chronicles Episode 2
Episode 2 of The PA Wild Trout Chronicles is up on my youtube channel, link to the full video below: šš£š¦

In todayās video, Eric Richard and I continue to explore one of his local wild trout streams where over time migratory wild brown trout have established themselves within the watershed. These wild trout, if managed correctly, have amazing potential to expand the numbers of big wild brown trout throughout the state of PA.
Checkout the full video for some great dry fly action, as well as some really cool facts about these elusive wild trout.

Meet Eric Richard (The Man Behind The Petition!) Why Manage For Migratory Wild Brown Trout?
New video is up on my Youtube channel!

As many know, there's been a petition going around in relation to enhancing and expanding the presence of migratory wild brown trout here in Pennsylvania.
In this video, my good friend Eric Richard (one of the founders of the petition), explains more about the potential managing these fish can have on improving wild trout fishing as a whole, as well as how directly managing for these moving brown trout can also benefit the brook trout.
His passion towards managing and protecting these migratory wild brown trout is an inspiration to me as well as many others in the wild trout community. The very fact these unique trout exist in PA and can be found in various warm water streams across the state, there's no better time than now to embrace these wild trout and begin to directly manage for their greatest potential!

Let's all work together to ensure the protection and proper management of wild brown trout that have adapted this very unique characteristic of movement. The future for wild brown trout fishing in PA couldn't be any brighter.

MOPPIN EM UP! Chartreuse Mop Fly Smashes Brown Trout! (Small Stream Fly Fishing Ultra Clear Water!)
New video is up on my Youtube channel! What a crazy day full of nonstop action!

Today I returned to a stream I've not fished in a very long time and I've got to say it was totally worth the return! Fly fishing this stream at first was very tough, and couldn't find any fly they wanted to eat for a good 2 hours straight! With the extremely clear water conditions it made fishing extremely tough "at least that's what I thought at first hahaha." After only landing 2 brown trout in a matter of 2 hours I went through my entire fly box almost! I then decided to try something I thought wouldn't work at all in these ultra clear water conditions. The chartreuse mop fly saved the day, but not just saved it, ended up landing around 21 fish at the end of my outing!
Tight lines and hope you enjoy the video!
