The Madness and Harmony of the Zine

A small self made magazine featuring random writings, drawings, comics, and featured art of local artists. The overall structure is loose. One day it may just be drawings of people in suits and dark lighting. Another day, it may be a tiny novella.

Zine Noir is my little mad creation, finding it’s origin within my days studying at MCTC. The initial inspiration for the project came from an old Buffalo Punk Rocker/ Family Mentor named Jeb, who had given me the catalyst to start a DIY simple to make Zine with drawings and whatever I thought was clever enough to curate together. After printing three months of issues and 75 sheets of paper cut to size and folded later, I found myself nestled into something with some strange funky spirit and the potential to grow into something even more funky. But like most things, the Zines fell to the wayside as life progressed onward. Stress and new priorities took hold, and so the Zines went quiet for many cold and quiet years. But as of recently, the deep slumbers of the old ones has been stirred as the smell of paradigm shift has been detected on the air. The Madness and the Harmony shall soon resume.... Zine Noir 2020 will be released monthly starting Mid February. Every Zine is hand drawn using Autodesk Sketchbook Express Lite on a standard Wacom Tablet for the time being. Each month will also feature a new artist showcases a particular piece work within the limited frame, usually accompanied by a theme which varies. If you want to be featured for the month, all you have to do is contact me with what you want to do. In the event, I can’t find an artist, I’ll fill it with something else.
