La Bija features a cozy control room where clients can relax and make themselves at home. The jasper door in the back leads to the isolation room where there is an acoustic drum kit, a converted electric kit, and doubles as a vocal booth.

This weekend I went over to house with the mobile mill to track vocals for the new album. These kids banged out an entire albums worth of vocals in just two days. Love working with this family! Sometimes you gotta work with what you got and build a makeshift vocal booth out of a cardboard box and some pillows 😂

This weekend I went over to house with the mobile mill to track vocals for the next album. These kids banged out an entire albums worth of vocals in a couple days! Love working with this family, such a joy. Some shots from our session and the mobile mill! Sometimes you gotta improvise and make a vocal booth out of a cardboard box and some pillows, whatever gets the job done! 🌿

Hi, I’m Andrew and I run this joint! It has been an incredibly busy year, and I am so thankful for the support of my friends and musical peers. You all keep me motivated to continue doing what I love. Bringing your sonic vision to fruition is what keeps me chugging along, and I’m so lucky to be able to do this with y’all.

Here’s a glimpse of the new iso room. There is an acoustic Gretsch Catalina Club and a converted Gretsch Street E-Kit. Also in the ceiling is a suspended mount for a vocal shield. Still working on the acoustic treatment in this room but I’ve already recorded drums / vocals a few times and it’s sounding pretty darn good!

Say hi to Abbi! We’ve got an official mascot here at La Bija. As some of you know, I named La Bija after the rice factory my grandfather started. His name was Andres, and we his grandchildren all called him Abito. In my own way of honoring him, I decided to name my little companion here Abbi, short for Abito.

The past several months have been a roller coaster. I moved to a new home, and the studio along with me. I have been very busy transforming the new space and getting prepared for new projects. I am so grateful, and I am really looking forward to making music in this awesome space in 2022! La Bija 2.0 here we go!
