Somehow, Mixmaster Morris continues to make these mixes comprised of different versions of the same tune and they're never boring! Radiohead's opener from their Kid A album gets served up several times over the course of 60 minutes and it's fabulous, trust me.

I'm on the other side of 2023 experiencing life after Bondfire Radio and quite frankly, a large part of me is still processing the whole journey. A little something for your : one of my favorite albums of 2023. CLOUDWARMER delivers head-nodding instrumentals with a downtempo warmth, a hip-hop knock, and 1920s gospel samples from the public domain. Basically, they made it just for me. 😁 In all seriousness, though, this album is GORGEOUS.

Bondfire Radio OG Carminelitta is continuing with her show, The Wonderful World Of Carminelitta, which is great news for those of us who love music. Her impeccable selections will always provide an hour's worth of escape when necessary.

New year, same format. As you may know, Bondfire Radio has closed its door after 10 years, but that doesn't mean it's the end of The Wonderful World of Carminelitta. I will keep creating the show and uploading it on the first Saturday of the month. Enjoy this new musical journey around the world, an...

This photo is from an event that represents my first week with Bondfire: the station's 2nd Anniversary Party at the Social Butterfly Bar and Lounge on a Monday night, February of 2015...during a snow storm. At the end of that same week, Radio BSOTS made its Bondfire debut on the first Friday of the month.

You know what's so f****** funny. I cut my hair and it's growing back. TK started growing her locks again.

This photo is from back when we were broadcasting from Caribbean Flatbush! It was a snowstorm wet and crazy out there and so many people came to the event to celebrate. I can only imagine what it would have been like if the weather was nice. There's one thing I know You really got something good going on if people come out and inclement weather.

Quick Bondfire Radio update: the website is currently down, but 2024 is still the year of station archiving and preservation. And just like free radio costs, so does preserving the station's legacy.

Give what you can via PayPal or CashApp to help make that happen. You could also pick up some Bondfire merch. The station phrase "sustainability through community" still applies. Let's put our twos and fews together, kids. 👍

BlocSonic is getting the year started off right with a new episode of Tha Bloc Report! New releases, their top five of 2023, and of course, another 20 minute megamix diving deep into the label's discography.

As always, Donnie Ozone and Timezone Lafontaine have some heat for you to enjoy. From new releases, to the Top 5 of 2023 and in my opinion the best 20 Minute Workout we’ve heard yet, the January 2024 Episode, packed to the hilt with great music, will satisfy. Thank you to Donnie & Timezone for mak...

In June of last year, I had Doug (co-founder of the Creative Commons Community Music Awards) on Radio BSOTS as a guest for two episodes. Yesterday, I joined Doug for a conversation on his CCCMA YouTube page.

In addition to discussing the BSOTS podcast and Bondfire Radio, other topics include podsafe and history, netlabels, black metal, and Bandcamp. We also watched music videos from The Warhorse and Sole & DJ Pain 1.

One other thing: it is perfectly OK not to get to all the music that you wanted to listen to within a year of its release. I cannot stress that enough.

This is a reminder that if you want to experience the videos live, show up at 2pm US Central on Sundays!Show notes available at https://etherpad.p2pu.org/p/l...

An extremely compelling hip-hop mixtape with dialogue and interview excerpts interspersed throughout. The liner notes are as follows:

"This project started during a prior project and some extended reflection on a phrase that comes up in many contexts as a given… “It’s just business” or the close cousin, “I understand that this is a business.” The implications in both of these phrases is that “business” supersedes ways of thinking that might be considered normal and the right way to do things in all other non-business situations. It also implies there is generally one way of conducting business, the aforementioned non-normal and anti- “right” way of doing things.

We can then easily stretch our imagination from the recesses of current and historical society to the activities grounded in business, capitalism and profit at the expense of what is appropriate, just, and humane. With the enslavement of Africans and King Cotton, and the drug trade with addiction and violence, we see elements of business over everything. We see immediate and longer-term impacts. How do we invest in faith, hope, and possibility?"
