We went to Triton, in search of an , and discovered SO MUCH more, particularly the wonderful humour and welcoming nature of the people, making us feel at home.

Amazingly, we did get up close to that iceberg before it disappeared, thanks to Clarey and Rocky Roberts of Clarey’s Diving and Eco Tours, which was truly breathtaking and awe inspiring. That was just the start of our adventures with Clarey and Rocky, off Brighton on that first excursion together, and later with their brother Mike of Badger Bay Boat Tours Triton Group.

A nod of thanks to Adventure Central Newfoundland for the nudge in the direction of , it welcomed us home to Newfoundland Labrador.

Love ! Arrived in , pulled into campground for the night, and promptly met Lynne and Craig Fudge of Fudge’s Fudge. They asked what brought me to town, I said the , and not only did they offer to show me it, but they called around to make sure they knew where it was.

A short drive to later, and we are joking about how only in would a young gal (love that that is how they saw me) hop in a car and go for a walk in the woods with people she just met. Gotta love that about Newfoundland! And a short stroll later, I get to see my first iceberg! While this may now be a small berg as it melts, for me it’s enormous and utterly beautiful. My very first pyramid of ancient ice!

The whale on the iceberg? They mistake me for a Newfoundlander (if only), and give me the sort of tour that only a Fudge could give me of Triton!

Thanks Adventure Central Newfoundland!

Been enjoying a as of late, quite literally with a creatively scrumptious meal at Skye Avenue Kitchen & Lounge. It was such a delightfully surprising meal of Chef Valerio Pescetelli’s Italian roots, locally inspired Japanese cuisine, and playfully creative and tasty vegan eats, combined with an impressive whiskey bar.

Pictured here:

1) Japanese Milk Bread with soy glacé and green goddess dressing
3) Burrata Salad
4) Wagyu Beef Carpaccio
5) Prosciutto & Burrata Gluten-Free Pizza (the would not have known the dough was gluten free - it was most delicious)
6) Salmon Oshizushi
7) The Impossible Roll (Vegan Sushi Roll of cucumber, avocado, sweet soy glaze, vegan beluga caviar, and sweet potato crunch) - really enjoyed this roll
8)Kujira single grain whiskey
9) Tiramisu

Thanks Richard Goodine, Ange Chew, Jenny Mourad, and Discover Surrey for the delicious evening! Loving ’s creative, playful and colourful approach to food, inviting people to try and experience different tastes without the snobbery that sometimes comes with enjoying fine spirits.

it is such a lovely pat on the back, on the storytelling and digital strategy work we do, when we discover one of our stories in the first listing on a search engine search, as the case was today, when typing Leilani Kai Resort into a Google search. Even better when it happens with a place close to our heart, like Leilani Kai Resort is.

Oh là là! Versante Hotel really knows the way to a gal’s heart! Not only do they have a soaker tub that I’ll be dreaming about (in every room), but they taunt the taste buds with delectable bites (my favourite being the pork belly on the menu at .yvr), stash free snacks away in the rooms, offer awesome views of the skyline from ALAÏA, and with fine and at Cask Whisky Vault. Oh, and did I mention that we were ?!?

#1 reason why they have this girl’s heart … they welcome cats! And even provide our feline familia with gold poodles and coy to chatter away to! A wonderful night out, right here at home!
